The place has been here for 9 years, which tells me that there are many good things going on here. A real jewel at the North Shore. Generous portions, reasonable prices. "This restaurant is excellent! I originally came for the 'sin burger' but ended up trying the hanger steak, which was full of complex flavors and made for an outstanding meal. My wife had the salmon and absolutely loved it. The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly and the flavors were simply delicious. The staff made us feel like our experience was their top priority, which is not always the case at other restaurants. I have been to many good restaurants where the wait staff ruined the experience, causing us to never return. The Blue Ox definitely lives up to their hype. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself."

"Floured chicken was not cooked hot enough so glue like sticky piccata with canned mushrooms and frozen spinach. Over cooked salmon with bottled pesto was grilled and pesto was black. The shrimp appetizer on toast points was excellent. Our waitress was excellent. The cooking is very amateurish. Would not go back again."

"Wonderful food, great selection. Clean and welcoming. We sat on the deck because we had the dog and it worked perfectly! Our waitress, Dorothy, brighten the dog water in a bowl and refill it for him. She checked us regularly, although she was very busy. She was excellent! We had freshly baked bread with diving sauce, excellent salad with garlic dressing and Sarah had a mashed watermelon martini-also very good. Entrees were pizza fra diablo and roasted jumbo shrimps. Both were excellent and 1/2 came home the pizza. No place to dessert. Menu is heavy on seafood and Italian, but also claimed 8 ounces of burger. Every food around us was also appealing and many positive comments were overheard. Dinner was a bit expensive, but lived until the price. Very recommended. Only 1.3 miles north of the apartment."
