"Great local seafood place! We discovered Schooner's in 2014; loved it then, and it's just as wonderful today. This is just off the touristy path... has the ambiance of a dennys, but don't let that fool you... they have amazing fresh local seafood and more. They also make a uniquely local favorite: Minorcan Clam Chowder. This is a red, slightly spicy, clam and potato chowder... using minorcan datyl peppers. Don't pass this up! Speaking of Minorcan Datyl peppers... they sell hot sauce and vinegar sauce. We had the Minorcan spicy shrimp and fresh catch breaded and baked (it was Mahi, or dolphin as it's called here in Florida... not porpoise- which is why we seem to have adopted the California...

Very good. We were heading to St. Augustine to do some sightseeing. It was a little after 1PM, so we decided to stop for lunch, before going into St. Augustine. What a pleasant suprise it was. I was impressed that you could chose from either the fried or broiled menu. The hushpuppies were excellent. There were four of us, and no one had any complaints.We live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, and it was as good as any place we've been to around here.

A bunch of guys from our neighborhood went here for lunch one day and overall had a nice lunch. The server did a great job handling our large group which is not Leah's easy to do. The fresh seafood was delicious, I had a blackened fish, i believe it was grouper and it was very tasty. However the lunch portions of the fish were pretty small. They give you 2 sides and those are generous portions. The place fills up quick at lunch time. We got there a little before 11 when they open and there were already people waiting outside. Very popular place. The restaurant was clean and a little on the rustic side but very comfortable. I'd go back again!
