"My friend and I visited Taco Chelo in downtown Phoenix at about noon on a Thursday in June, 2023. Parking was a bit challenging. There were parking spots right outside, some with a parking meter, one without a meter. We parked in the spot without a meter, crossing our fingers that we wouldn't be towed. I had the Carne Asada and Costra tacos and they were delicious! Horchata tends to be either a hit or miss when I go to Mexican restaurants and theirs was a definite hit! The staff are also very friendly and nice.Food: 5/5

Fast, affordable, delicious tacos! It might take a bit to out your order in as it’s a small place with not too much seating inside but once your order is in, the food comes out quickly. I went with the asada, fish, and carnitas tacos. They were all super juicy and delicious. They have a bar as well which makes for a great place to grab a bite and drinks after work or on the way to bar hop on Roosevelt Row. If it wasn’t for the limited seating inside, I’d definitely give them 5 stars. Looking forward to my next visit.

Recommended by a local as the best tacos in town and I wouldn't argue. Pretty basic taco menu with a variety of meats and toppings. No chips here. Just whatever you order at the counter. I got a small chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and while good, I wouldn't recommend. It's filling and I would have rather had a 4th taco. Got carne asada, chicken and al pastor. Chicken was the best for me, hands down. Pork was mostly average. Carne asada was my 2nd best. My mate with me loved the fish and actually went back for a 2nd one of those.
