"We just drove through from New Orleans to Dallas and my friend wanted a last taste of Louisiana. We stopped at the Palace Café and were greeted with a smile and a Cornbread by Dee Dee, a wonderfully sweet and pleasant server that could say we were not from here. She led us through the menu and recommended the calf livers, onion rings and chicken roast steak. She said whatever we ordered would be good, although the cook would cook in this kitchen for 25 years. She was right. Great burgers and pommes. Red beans and rice are excellent. The service is sometimes dirty. You might have to wait a little longer than you want, but it's worth it.

Great!. I've been in the palace for years. You have the best crust vegetables in the world! If you enjoy the food in chains where the food is prefabricated and delivered to the restaurant on a truck, you cannot understand the uniqueness and charm of this restaurant. I suppose you eat somewhere else. But if you like to go back well, old fashion hand prepared food, you must go to the palace!
