"Toppings Too is a popular place for Filipino food. This is one of several restaurants in other areas such as Toppings Juan in South San Francisco and Toppings Three in Santa Clara. Conveniently located in a relatively quiet area of Union City, CA. The seat is limited in view of the size of the restaurant, although not allowing you to stop from enjoying what they have to offer. There are always rows out of the door; it is necessary to cook some sarap. Fast and friendly service. I have enjoyed practically everything on the menu between different excursions and often revisit lechon kawali, inihaw na liempo, crispy pata and grilled tocino. Sizzling sisig will sell out quickly; Therefore, you ca...

I've been here for so long, and every time I travel to the Bay area, it's always a place to eat, you'll never go wrong and the kitchen is amazing. I've never eaten anything that wasn't nice of this facility, and I never had this experience.

Great Filipino food, from crispy para to lieutenant and more in between. The fried chicken tasted like Max's and the sinigang na hipon tasted like a homemade meal. The place is small (4 tables with dividends) and they do not take reservations so that you wait during peak hours, but it is worth waiting.

This place is not a joke! You have the crispy Pata I had when they say sizzling plate it sizzling hot! Huge portion, almost perfectly cooked : . The bathroom is outside the premises, limited parking space and a bit cramped inside, but then again I forgot all this when I begin to stuff my face with food. The food came out quickly.

"Mioki, from now on for me, shall be called Mi roll ki. Their rolls are beautiful, delicious, and filling. Came here for dinner on a weeknight and the service was phenomenal! Despite the crowds, we were able to get seated rather quickly (maybe around 5 minutes) we may have gotten lucky with the timing as the first wave was just wrapping up. Upon getting our seats, we were offered water with ice or no ice, lemon or no lemon. It was a nice touch to have that option as a patron. We knew we were going to get some rolls to share but were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dish of tempera green beans shortly after we were seated. The green beans tasted fresh and had a nice crisp to it but not overly breaded. The dipping sauce to me wasn't necessary but did had a bit of flavor to the bite. Great way to get in your vegetables for the meal! Upon checking in on Yelp, we also received and used the check in offer for an appetizer size of gyoza. These came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. It paired well with the dipping sauce. For rolls, we ordered the Cherry Blossom roll as it's our favorite and Mioki does an amazing job with it. Meaty bites and constructed aesthetically to make your mouth water and yummy grumbling. We also ordered the New Alaska roll, which was a new flavor profile for us. It is packed with smoked salmon and fresh salmon topped with a small slice of lemon. It was very tasty! To round off, we also got a TSY (short for Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail) roll and it had five huge pieces. Each piece was loaded with fish and had a lot of substance with each bite. It's in the pricier end for the number of pieces you get but due to each piece's massive size, it seems fair. And to end our service, we were served a pineapple slice nicely cut into small bite sized morsels we could pick out with toothpicks. Healthy and delicious dessert! The rolls are consistently the best off their menu and with the amazing service exhibited this most recent visit, they're definitely among the top of my sushi list in this area!"

"We went with my husband on May 7, 2022 to celebrate his birthday since he likes French cuisine. The place has nice parking and beautiful flowers outside the restaurant, we really liked it. The interior seems like a French house interior from the last century. Nice details and decorations, a bit not in my taste since I prefer more modern designs, but definitely underlining French personality of the place. We were seated at a very nice spot with red chairs, by the door to the outside part of the restaurant. Our table also had a fresh orchid flower and a candle, which is super nice and creates romantic atmosphere. Now onto the food. I decided to order 4 appetizers, while my husband had 1 appetizer and a main dish with French Onion soup on the side. We both ordered baked brie with jam it was really amazing, tender, flavorful, served at just the right temperature. I highly recommend it. French Onion soup had extremely rich and dense flavour, was nicely served and I am ready to order it again and again. I ordered salmon carpaccio, and I was a bit disappointed since it was just a plate with smoked salmon, an egg, capers, and onions. I was expecting to have raw salmon meat which carpaccio typically is. However, I may have not paid attention to the dish description maybe it said that salmon is smoked, so that is on me. After appetizers were served we unfortunately had to wait for about an hour to get the main dish and the remaining two appetizers. That's why I gave 4 stars. It seemed like there were some issues with making the main dish which was short ribs and timing everything to come together. We made that conclusion because when the dishes finally came, short rib was juicy and hot, while my appetizers were pretty cold and no longer as enjoyable. So the short rib was on the Special's menu and was tender, juicy, a bit crispy on the outside and had nice flavor to it. We shared the short rib since my appetizers mushroom ravioli and mussels were cold and pretty much inedible. We ordered desserts, and again it was a bit of a mixed experience my husband got Affogado, and I got the Papillon Cheesecake with strawberry sauce. Affogado was amazing caramel, chocolate, ice cream, and espresso flavors are combined into a wonderful mix. Our server said that people order it often. My cheesecake was a bit weird since the eggy flavor of the cheesecake did not seem to work well with the sourish strawberry jam. I acknowledge it may be only my perception of flavors though. I would go with Affogado next time. I also want to mention that because of the waiting times we spent about 2.5 hours, and because of our seating location by the door we both got extremely cold. We had a really nice server who brought us hot water and different tea options so that we wouldn't be just sitting and freezing. It was really nice of him. He also apologized when we explained that my appetizers were cold overall it left a nice impression of the service. Well, we went in the beginning of May. I bet if you come in June, you won't have any issue being cold."
