"Arrived to find entire menu changed from website expectation. Reservations about 8:15pm, so remained positive to try things out. Four apps and five entrees were super disappointing. Seasoning overpowering and inedible. Cocktails pronounced of heavy thick sugar syrup. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Luckily found dinner elsewhere. Would not return to Square Barrel."

"We dined with some friends when on vacation for dinner. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and decor is modern industrial. We had the octopus starter, steak and salmon. Everything was delicious and I only had one issue. I specifically asked the server if the salmon contained any cream or dairy and was told no but it definitely came out with a ton of it. Overall a nice experience but a bit of attention to detail would have been the cherry on top."

"Came here for the first time recently with my work sisters just to hang out and enjoy some happy hour before going shopping. The food here is DELICIOUS!"

"Reserve in advance. Popular worth the wait. Excellent choices, delicious and well-prepared. Original cocktails, local beer, and sake. My only regret is that they sold out of the famous duck tacos!"

"we came directly at the opening to get a parking space at the front. there were only about half dozens of people in front of us, so we sit fast. always good to go to the opening when they can fit in their schedule. this was my way to local Hawaiian food every time I go back to the peers. I tried many of the elements on the menu and all were good. we chose our own combos each time. I went for the kalua schwein, mac salat, haupia and pipikalua ripen. rib was juicy and was my favorite visit. the service was fast and we paid the front when we were finished."
