"I’m very pleased that my man took me here for our special Sundate night, plus a complimentary champagne is an impressive one! We both really enjoyed the black caviar and loved the crispy scale black sea bass sublimely aromatic on the palate. Finest delicate ingredients were highlighted, aesthetically slick presentations, heartwarming atmosphere and delightful ambiance with plenty of open fireplaces candles lit all around. Very intimate. Courteous staffs, they went above and beyond to ensure we’re satisfied. One of the staffs captured some lovely pictures of us and I’m really grateful for that. Service wise was fantastic, however, we were hoping for a refinement in the chocolate cake (mediocre flavor, no wow factor, soggy gooey texture? ; and also improvement in time management since we waited for the first dish a bit longer than we anticipated. Overall, Spago is a five star for me, an absolute MUST try, sensational fine dining spotlight in Beverly Hills!"

"The napkins and glasses were smelly. They passed off a chardonnay for a reisling and I guess hoped I wouldn't notice. The food was good but not remarkable. The tuna cones are popular but I'm not into uncooked meat. The lobster pizza was good and different. The chicken had a nice crisp skin. Nice to say we've dined there. "For a restaurant that specializes in cooking steaks, it was disappointing to see on all 3 steak entrees ordered that medium rare all came out medium. Still tasty, but off the mark. Considering the price and area of expertise, an unfortunate outcome. The tuna tartar was underwhelming as well. Very bland. Been coming to Mastro's for years and I wonder if there is new blood (pardon the pun) in the kitchen. My only advise is to ask for rare if you want medium rare, etc, etc."

"Celebrate our wedding anniversary here yearly as we were married in the hotel many decades ago. The restaurant faces elegant Wilshire and Rodeo Drive placing you in the center of the action. The menu is not huge, but enough selections to please the most finicky of eaters though I do miss the old basket of bread and butter that used to be included in every meal. The staff and management go out of their way to make you feel appreciated whether a tourist, a regular or a VIP. It still remains one of the most elegant hotels and restaurants in the city! As soon as one enters the foyer w/the stunning flower arrangements and shiny marble walls it feels special!"

"Seriously bartender and management. the owner of this restaurant is terrible! I ate one night and it was very nice! I personally asked him to turn the air conditioning on the whole explosion, he said it was. when we were very uncomfortable, we ordered a round mojitos- terrible- not a real mojitio- it was as if we were to drink lemon minze kool help. we returned them to get margaritas, again it tasted like mixed limonade. we have been calculated for everything, even if we want the mojitos and Margaritas if they want a kosher steak, they go to bocca im tal - ingenious barkeeper- not like the 40-year-old barkeeper in la gondola who was hit on my 17-year-old son. steaks cooked to perfection and professional management that their customers want to be happy and come back! it is not a wonder why la gondola not every time I have been there recently, but after the last time I will not be back!"

"I recommend it at 208 rodeo! my friends and I had lunch here recently in the holiday of melbourne. I ordered the ochsenschwanz gnocchi for my head and cannoli for dessert. both courts were divine. the gnocchi was very rich in taste and a generous portion size, although it looks small on the photo. I usually prefer traditional cannoli with a ricotta filling, but the mousse in this cannoli was great. the cannoli was great and really delicious. I added the vanilla purple and that was good. service was great and our meals came out quickly. Meals are on the expensive side, but I thought my meals were worth the price I paid."

We ordered calamari fritti, salad, pasta with truffle, past with clams, squid ink risotto, and steak. Everything was fantastic! "I am honestly just confused about all these five star reviews. First let me say that this pizza is not bad by any means. But to say it is excellent or even very good seems reaching at best. This is not reminiscent of NY style pizza (I would imagine most users staying this aren’t so familiar with the subject). The crust is very thin, which makes it more of a tortilla feel than pizza. It also gets rid of that classic chew that a NY pizza should have. The sauce is very bland. A good pizza sauce should taste of very fresh and acidic tomatoes. This was likely tomato paste and mediocre canned tomatoes, with sugar to help balance the flavor. The cheese was ok, though nothing to write home about. And the peperoni could’ve easily been a hormel or any discount grocery store brand. Again I just do not understand most of these reviews. After eating it I thought I was missing something, maybe it was another menu item that blew people away. But not only do these reviews state the pizza is great. But that it is a perfect replication of NY pizza. And that is where the line has to be drawn because on its own it’s fine pizza. C-B but when you compare it to NY pizza it is on par with dollar slice. If you’re from the east coast I think Joes pizza is honestly much better. Still not 100% but it’s 1000x better than this."

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"I was incredibly impressed by the innovative dishes and delicious flavors at this restaurant. I have tried multiple dishes and each one has been fantastic. While the prices may be on the higher end, the food is so good that I didn't even mind. The owner is lovely and the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. But the standout is definitely the food - some of my favorites include the braised short rib, crispy umami brussel sprouts, escargots, lobster roll, sweet potato taquitos, and mushroom tacos."
