"This small comfortable place a few minutes' walk from the art oriented center of Bregenz is a nice evocation of a taverna in some small Greek town: it resembles some we ate in on the island of Hydra. It's very unlike the big fancy Greek restaurant opposite the museum a completely different feel. A very small place seating maybe sixteen or twenty people tops plain tables and ladderback chairs, everything blue and white, with a handpainted mural on one wall. The owner/host has a little English, enough to handle orders: most of our interactions with him were in German. We used the German menu, so I'm not sure if there were English language ones, but the host helped us with anything we weren't sure about. Nothing at all fancy about the food, but this isn't fast food: the owner takes the right amount of time and care over it. Last time we were there my husband had the kokkinisto a pork stew in tomato sauce with rice on the side : I had spit grilled lamb skewers. (I'm not a big Greek food fan, though my husband is; mostly I stick to grilled meat when eating Greek, and these were terrific. White and rose retsina to drink, and coffee with Metaxa afterward: a perfect lunch for a warm day, in a comfy welcoming place. And reasonably priced, too. Highly recommended. Will add images of the food later if possible."
