"For a few days, as every year in February, we stayed once again in the Cuxhaven corner. And what's closer to being an extensive fish, there are plenty of fish gastronomy in Cuxhaven. Since there are still some white spots in Cuxhaven's fish gastronomy at GG, we decided to get to work and test these guest roses. This lunch was the “Nordland Backfisch” at the Brockeswalder Chaussee in Cuxhaven-Westerwisch. Around 13 o'clock we reached the widely visible place. Parking is available in front of the restaurant. Since almost all places were empty at this time, we could park directly in front of the restaurant. In the outdoor area there were several signposts for various dishes. Since almost all tables were empty at this time, we were able to choose a place in the light flooded room with its large windows. Bright, friendly furniture, some room dividers and an orchid collection on the window boards expected the guest. From our table we had a good view of the open kitchen. Overall, the whole thing reminded me of a canteen rather than a restaurant. Also the smell, probably through the open kitchen, was a bit in need of reconciliation. After a short time, the boss came to the table and brought the card. This was simply held and at the end a laminated note. Menu Again one more point towards the canteen. The selection was quite decent, and so we chose three small cola for 2,00 € as drinks. The dishes were also quickly selected. So our little girl wished for the weekly offer, a large portion of sea salmon with homemade potato salad, a dessert and a drink for €11.70. My wife chose the Limandesfilet with homemade potato salad for €9.20 and my wish was the stone bite with roast potatoes for €9.30. At the potato salad you had the choice of whether classically dressed with mayonnaise and meat salad, or to Swabian(? Type with vinegar and oil. My two girls chose the latter variant. After just 15 minutes, our three fish plates were placed. They were rich. Several fillet pieces fish and large supplements. Let's surprise you. From the appearance, the three different types of fish were almost impossible to distinguish. They were very fried, but even the roast potatoes were just drinking fat. Dessert to the Seelachsfilet The dessert of our little daughter, finally only a red hat with finished vanilla sauce was then almost forgotten, only after we had mashed this, it was brought to our place. Overall, the dishes were plentiful. The fish fresh and well baked, but unfortunately much too fat. The potato salad really tasty, the roast potatoes only wholesale goods that were thrown into the pan without any difficulty. We also lacked a small green supplement on the plate. Conclusion: for us all here from the ambience and from the food has the canteen army rather than a fish restaurant. The prices are of course unbeatable. I think we will return to the fishing harbour with its fish gastronomy."
