"Connected with a fellow foodie last week and she suggested we meet at housewife.kc for brunch; a place I’ve been meaning to try since it opened. WOW!!! A cozy little place where before you even open the door to enter, enchanting aromas of earthy spices swirling in the air are enticing you to indulge. We had the SALMON TOAST**Whipped garlic chive cream cheese generously slathered a rustic slice of bread, topped with smoked salmon, pickled red onions and micro greens. A delicate balance of flavors that made my toes curl AVOCADO TOAST**All avocado toasts are not created equal! A rustic loaf, topped with creamy avocado, smoky chipotle tomato jam, punctuated by cilantro pepita pesto, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, and micro greens. Rich, creamy, decadence at first bite BISCUITS AND GRAVY**Soft, Buttery, Flaky, housemade biscuit, bathed in velvety chunky sausage gravy. My dish had the perfect amount of sausage to gravy ratio; the American dream on a plate! It was a delight to meet Owner Anna (who’s makeup was FLAWLESS/ SLAYING), her beautiful daughter and son, who work at the bistro as well. Our short interaction was very organic; they made me feel welcomed! It was evident that they have a passion for what they do and that passion was translated into their food. This family have successfully made Grandview a foodie destination! Looking forward to everything on their menu! #eatlikealadyshould"

"I won’t return. Mushrooms were burnt. Took way too long get my food and then I had to ask twice for the coke I ordered, and one of the cooks came up from the back and handed me a tiny cup of coke; about the size of cup you get at the water cooler at work. But the WORST was that it was 815 when I got my food that I DID NOT order to go/ carry out. The woman taking orders at the counter told me I was not able to eat there and that three dining area was closed because they were trying to leave/close. Keep in mind that their business hours on the weekend say they close at 9 p.m. I told her I didn’t order to go and that I came there expecting to dine in and that I didn’t want to take it home because everything would be cold by then and she begrudgingly told me that “If” I was able to eat my meal in under 45 I could eat there. The wings were decent, Hooter’s and Wild Wings are both much better. The fried fish was good. I ordered seasoned fries and got regular plain ones instead but by then I wasn’t about to ask them to correct it. Also, the mushrooms were 100% a waste since I tried one and then left the entire order on the counter without even asking for a refund. They were that bad. I couldn’t believe they had the balls to serve then when I saw how overcooked they were.
