"Turns out that I saved the best for last! I've been staying here at the L'auberge for the past few weeks while working out in Lake Charles and on my last night I made it in to give it a try. Don't wait as long as I did! The service, atmosphere and fare will not disappoint. I tried the Bison Ribeye and OMG! If you haven't tried it you have GOT to! The rest of the meal was just as amazing. "A true hidden gem in South West Louisiana! This spot serves the BEST beignets I've ever tasted. I've tried many, including those from Café Du Monde, and the beignets from Stellar Beans surpass them by a long shot! I also enjoyed The Titan Sandwich for brunch, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! My wife opted for the Jalapeño Chicken Salad Sandwich, and she found it fabulous! If you find yourself in Lake Charles, LA, make sure to treat yourself to this wonderful place!"

"All was good, as usual with a few exceptions. The crab cake was fantastic. Also got the 16 oz ribeye and a baked potato. Potato was great but the ribeye was barely average. I'm used to having a prime ribeye extremely flavorful and this one was not. I split it with my wife and she hardly touched hers. For the price we paid for the steak, it should have been exceptional. Also, the group next to us was loud and vulgar. It didn't make for a nice evening."

"I went to MacFarlane 's Celtic Pub in Lake Charles for lunch with some co-workers. This was my first visit, and a co-worker recommended the Fish Chips. I ordered this for $19.99. The menu describes the Fish Chips as follows: Two slabs of wild caught pacific cod dipped in founders ' beer batter and fried until crisp. Set atop a bed of fresh fried seasoned chips. Served with grilled lemon, homemade remoulade and your choice of a side . After about a 15-minute wait, the food arrives. The plate had 2 small pieces of fish on top of a bed of chips. They definitely weren 't two slabs as described on the menu. If i would have been dining alone, I would have sent it back and ordered something else with bigger portion sizes. However, the fish was hot and fried to a golden brown and tasted very good. If you are hungry, do not order the Fish Chips. They are not worth $19.99."

"Decent meal, average service and below average decor/comfort. Food was pretty good. We sat outside which was more of a concert courtyard with uncomfortable metal chairs. Inside was very bar centered and felt more like your in a pub than a restaurant with a bar. For all the hype they get I was unimpressed."

"Service is great, albeit mildly confusing upon initially entering. Servers were attentive and had positive attitudes, food was delivered quickly and was fresh. I had their chicken and sausage gumbo, with a side salad and stuffed potato. My partner had the Nina P Burger. Everything was absolutely delicious, with the exception of the rice served with the gumbo (it was definitely old rice, heated in a microwave. I could tell because it was hard. <br/ <br/ Portions were HUGE, the prices arent bad, and the atmosphere and service are a pure delight. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through or visiting."

Our server, Stephanie, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with ease; she also made fantastic recommendations. If you're looking for a lovely spot to enjoy a meal and you appreciate Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend giving Mazen's a try—you won’t be disappointed! Oh, and be sure to make reservations; the dining room filled up quickly, even on a Wednesday evening!"

"Husband and I had dinner on a Friday evening just before Valentines Day. The food was delicious and presentation was absolutely beautiful. The lighting is bright enough to see well without being glaring. Plus there was a live saxophone player with soothing tunes. This made for a great romantic setting. Prices are reasonable as well. Portions are enough for two meals-take home or share. Staff is professional and friendly. Prompt without being intrusive. Will definitely visit here again. Side note-there was a sweet couple at the next table who recommended some dishes, as it was our first visit. They shared a small sampling of their food when it came to their table, just so we could try it. (Clean plate and utensils were used! If you’re reading this, and recognize yourselves, we hope you liked the recommendations we gave for the Italian restaurant!"

"Hands down, GREATEST local BBQ in Lake Charles! The brisket is phenomenal, the ribs fall off the bone, and the blackberry rum sauce bread pudding is TO DIE FOR! High prices, but that's to be expected, considering the market. The atmosphere out back is EXTRAORDINARY with live music, picnic tables, and several activities to do with the kids!! "Excellent! My wife and I really enjoyed everything about this place. I had the Surf and Turf with jalapeño mayo. It was messy as all get out with much more meat than I expected. You definitely get much more than you pay for here. Though it was messy I just decided to embrace it and it was a great experience! Good selection of beer on tap as well. Highly recommend checking this place out if you have a chance. I can't wait to come back and try some other options."

"Excellent breakfast. Start off with a wonderful tasting **** Mary. Me and my wife normally get the shrimp and grits, they are awesome. My 8 y/o daughter normally gets the home plate. I wonder where they get them steaks from because they are great. The staff very friendly and courteous. Mr Jerry and staff are always on top with service. Great place to come and eat at. I love the lunch specials too. I've haven't eaten there at night yet. One day I might try."

"Been a supporter of this spot since it opened. It's the best tap room in the state hands down. It's big, multi-storied, and hosts a regular rotation of events. I know that's far from a small accomplishment. They've been great to Lake Charles.The glaring issue is that they're becoming more and more focused on the venue aspect. Having the focus they have on that is far from bad, but it's making a blite on their name as a brewery at this point. Let's also be honest and say, that aspect needed to be worked on first.If alienating patrons by turning them away after they've traveled to be there for the brewery itself, and not a mediocre concert, is the way this place is going then I'm throwing the towel in.There's also been the issue of how overpriced the beer is compared to the general market and for FAR less on quality product.Hope them the best, honestly, I know it's a tough business, but you lost me and I know of plenty others."
