"Dinner was not really okay. The appetizer was not fresh at all and where we sat it was not the first seat but it was very drafty. I did not eat all my meal and we brought it home and when I went to have it I found that I did not have as much meat and food there as I thought because they had filled it in underneath with meat, you could see there was rice there beside it and it had so much soy sauce and I could not eat it. It was soy sauce or something that tasted very similar to soy sauce. I would really like to see supper's come with something similar to lunches where you can get soup and egg rolls and whatever else comes with it. I guess family dinner on the side there for like 6.25 is supposed to be that but it would sure be nice if it was included with it. The waitress seemed pretty new and we had to request things a couple different times even though she was quite pleasant she was seemingly very nervous."

"Interesting concept the menu is half Mexican food and half Thai food. Options include nearly everything in that there are chicken, steak, fish, and ground beef and several dishes give you the option of which you want. There's even vegetarian. Service was friendly and our party of 4 had several questions and were all answered helpfully. Reasonably priced."

"We had never been to the LaSalle Grill but visited after a college trip to Notre Dame. What a great experience. The staff were uniformly warm and attentive and our server Mitchell talked to our son about all of the great things going on in South Bend. The bartender makes a fantastic old fashioned and we all loved our filet. They were unfortunately out of the elk dish so we definitely have to try that next time. Whether you are local or just visiting like we were South Bend is definitely a better dining scene because of LaSalle Grill."

"We have never been disappointed with the food at this restaurant. The pastor tacos were delicious and juicy, served with extra limes as requested. The kids' grilled cheese and cheese quesadilla were perfectly cooked and very cheesy. All the dishes were hot and fresh."

"the waiter had no personality. told us the specials and then he said better go check if something changed. in serious, our reservation was at 5:15 o'clock we were the only table in the room to the time with guests. he never asked one of the ladies at the table whether we care about another glass wein, but he asked the men. Just crazy! never was offered after dinner coffee, even tho that he offered dessert. my man steak was involved in a “interference on the stairs” (that, as it was told us) and unfortunately he had to wait and observe while the rest of the ate and they made him another ribeye. they took his meal out of the bill that was fair for her, we did not ask, and that was very good by the manager. it was less than par and we were a bit disappointed, as we had a hospitable with us who had never been there."

"One time I was offered a free drink while waiting for my to-go order.I love that the food is reasonably priced. I take cash so I can pick out songs on the jukebox, it's a bright atmosphere and always decorated for the season/current holiday. Taco Tuesday is a must, can't go wrong getting the chorizo.This restaurant is a gem for the South Bend river park neighborhood."

"We stopped in to grab a snack on the way home after shopping and we were pleasantly surprised to see that it has enlarged their seating area and the TVs are all over the place so you can definitely not miss the game that you’re looking to watch while you grab a great snack and dinner. Service was quick and fast things that I have definitely improved since the lockdown and I was nice to see that they have actually expanded since then our food came out quick and was perfectly cooked."

"I was all ready to give Bruno's three stars because, really, it deserves three stars. But I just gave three stars to a place in my hometown (Whittier that also deserves three stars, and Bruno's is better than that place. By far--er, star. Bruno's was a last-minute replacement for Elia's for my and my friend Kathy's graduation dinner. It wasn't quite what I had expected, but it was also a little bit more, so that was nice. It feels kind of like a really old carnival. Not a rundown carnival, just a really old one. I love restaurants with atmospheres like this, so I guess I love Bruno's. The pizza is pretty good, but it's heavy. I often overeat, and it's usually not a pleasant experience, but there are those times in life when I'm prepared to have that feeling because I am that hungry or because I just want to eat that much or because I'm rewarding myself in some masochistic way. I did this at Bruno's--loosened my belt pre-meal and everything--and the post-dinner coma was about what I expected it to be. My experience here didn't quite cap off my time in South Bend or epitomize any one particular feeling or even provide an unforgettable memory, but it was good for what it was, and that's definitely a win in my book. (In case you haven't noticed, I tend to be disappointed quite regularly and hard."

"Went in for an interview and was super excited. As soon as I walked in, one lady was super rushy. I waited a little more than 20 minutes after the time I was supposed to be there , not including the 10 minutes early I was. Just for the boss to look me up and down and tell me I was dirty. Not only was he late, but he was so rude to me. Not everyone can be in perfect condition when they have an infant. Staff also has no respect for customers in the lobby. They were talking about everyone and cussing every other word. They will never get my business. It?s so sad. Because I was so excited. Oh well. One driver was super sweet, he shouldn?t be there. He deserves better."

"I really don’t like leaving negative reviews, but felt led to share after two rough experiences here. My wife and I used to love to eat here but feel that quality has been slipping lately. After making a reservation on Valentines Day, something messed up on their end and we had to wait at the entrance for over 15 minutes while everyone else behind us in line were seated before us (again, we had a reservation). Fast forward to last night, we were seated at a table where you could see the damaged/worn surface poking up underneath the table cloth. On top of the cloth were two appetizer plates; one clean and one still with food on it from another guest. I try not to complain (in-person at least) so I wiped it off myself. The food actually came out quicker than expected and had a great presentation. My wife ordered the Cheese Tortellini and I ordered the Chicken Parm. Hers was fine, but she mentioned that it tasted like it was warmed up after being frozen. Speaking of temperatures, my chicken was fine but my pasta was served cold. It wasn’t ice cold, but still much colder than room temperature. We also noticed that they charge 3% extra for paying with a card (not sure how long this has been in place). Most businesses seem to eat that cost, but this seems to be just another cost-saving measure by Carmela’s. We didn’t always feel this way. We used to recommend Carmela’s to friends. However, in its current state, it’s becoming harder and harder to recommend. In a market saturated with plenty of Italian restaurants, Carmela’s is sliding backwards closer to Olive Garden status and further from authentic Italian roots."

"We asked to be in a quiet booth but we're put at a busy table where singer was and by kitchen door. After sitting a couple minutes they came and asked if we wanted to move due to my request on the reservation. At that point I said no just because it was a hassle and I felt they should see the notations on the reservation before seating not after. Other than that it was a perfect dinner food wise. Amazing actually. Were will be back! May even try a note on seating to see if it works next time"

"We were in town for a fantastic Notre Dame Lacrosse camp.After a long day in the July heat my son and I had worked up an appetite.We made way, two words SO GOOD!Delicious COLD beer complemented the fresh, homemade appetizer pretzel. For dinner we each ordered a different version of the Grilled Cheese to die for.Literally the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had! The habanero cheese sauce, oh lord yummy!Live music started while we there. The vibe was great! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I didn’t get our waitresses name but she was so nice prompt.This place is exactly how a brewpub is supposed to vibe. "While visiting town for the Irish, I recommend trying out Weiss Gasthaus for a unique German dining experience. During a recent trip to Notre Dame University for a football game, my family and I stumbled upon Weiss Gasthaus on our way to our hotel in South Bend after driving for 8.5 hours from Pennsylvania. Intrigued by the rave reviews on Yelp, we decided to give it a shot and were not disappointed. My husband enjoyed a large liter mug of Kostritzer beer while I savored a dry Riesling. We started off with the delicious Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon and maple syrup, followed by the Thursday dinner specials of brisket and roulade with sides of red cabbage and spaetzle. Both dishes were flavorful and generously portioned, served with a fresh vegetable medley and mashed potatoes. We also loved the homemade vinaigrette dressing on our dinner salads. For dessert, my dad indulged in the German Apple Cake, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, adorned with Cuckoo clocks, added to our dining experience. Our server, Marye, was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. Overall, we highly recommend Weiss Gasthaus for a memorable meal."

"Five young are good. the burger is 100% cow, which is beautiful. service is usually brutally fast and efficient. the riders are really good, and I don't care, mucj for riders. but they make them as if they were to be ridden. fresh, clean potatoes go directly into 350*f oil and are crunchy boiled and beautifully salted. an order by fritten is huge....an order feeds 3 ppl. they have kajunge seasoned pommes and they are also good."
