"My friend treated me to dinner here to thank me for some pro bono work I did for her church. She 'd been before and I had not, so it was a great surprise to me what an excellent experience it was all around. Granted, we were there on a quiet weeknight, but from the moment we were seated through our ordering, the surprise palate cleanser before our main course (a lovely little scoop of blood orange sorbet), the duck special I had with a lick-the-plate delicious berry/cassis sauce, and then the decadent hazelnut ice cream with hot fudge dessert special, it was a fabulous experience. JJ, our server, was an utter professional – when my eyes lit up hearing about the duck special, he said there was only one serving left but would have them hold it for me until I decided so I wouldn 't miss out if I chose it. Everything on my plate and what I tasted of my friend 's food was absolute yumminess. My only complaint is that the mashed potatoes on my plate were kind of lukewarm, but that was more than made up for by how perfectly cooked and delectable the duck was. Who knew there was such a true fine dining experience just a few miles from home? Now I do...sorry to read some of the less than stellar reviews, but for this first time patron it was an amazing meal all around."
