"For years we have been making a carnival holiday in Hinterzarten and until last year we have always been home guests in the Schwarzwaldhof; details about the hotel and the restaurant I am saving at this point, that can be all on the Internet under [here link] also the menu. Especially at the carnival time (or even at Christmas) there is a lot of going on in hints and in most restaurants you have to get really luck without booking; this applies both at lunchtime and in the evening. Individuals or couples may have luck; Groups are odd. We ate the peasant vesper plate at the peasant stable of the Schwarzwaldhof in the afternoon; as they already know and at the price of just EUR 7.00, this plate is already almost unbeatable. Two slices of coarse liver and bloodworm, each two slices of swarms, bacon and black forests of hamspeck, onion rings, cucumbers and dark peasant bread. Tastes really very good and is saturating until evening when you brush the plate completely. Here the price/performance ratio is really very harmonious; for all dishes, especially from the lunch or evening ticket, this does not apply in the Schwarzwaldhof. And for me a little manko on the edge: there is no red house but Fürstenberg! The ambience in the peasant stüble is extremely rustic and somewhat antiqued in the other restaurant rooms. The rooms are okay; above all we liked the tower room with skybed very well! Our serviceman in the Stüble was, first of all, talkable, and straight to a Lexicon on two legs; for hours, I wouldn't have carried him, good friend back or back!"

"The staff here are friendly and do a good job considering how busy this place is. The menu is far too big to allow anything to be cooked fresh from scratch which is such a shame as with a more manageable menu the food her...would be so much better. I had lasagne, cheap at around euros, and it was filling but obviously precooked and just heated up. The pork schnitzel was awful, it came as just a piece of pork about inch thick, no tenderising or flattening, a travesty! The pizzas looked okay, at least you could see them being handmade in the kitchen, and if you have a family to feed then this place fits the bill, just don't expect anything more than you could microwave at home."

"In short the best dinner we had in the black forest and if I come back to the area I would make a detour to eat here again. We were sent there for dinner by our guest house, and found the small charming place full, even on a Tuesday evening after a holiday. We did not expect to find such great food and atmosphere in a small sleepy town. The barkeep/waiter (and probably owner was extremely friendly and funny, speaking good English and recommending local dishes, often going around the room and laughing with tables. He even explained the difference between different Schnapps and how to drink it (aperitif vs. digestif depending on where in Germany you come from . The pork Fillet was the best we had in Germany, wonderfully soft and chewy. The place offers many wonderful dishes and we would definitely come back to try some more, even those the waiter suggested were too rough for tourists (like the sausage salad, which I would definitely try next time just for spite : Arrive early, as the place is small (6 7 tables and when we arrived at around 20:15 some dishes have already run out, though they did not expect so many people that night apparently."

"small restaurant/café in the hearts of the backspecies. the device is held somewhere between original and modern, white walls in contrast to black beams / columns in the corners and one is the deck. we were there after 14:00, so there was only dei vesperkarte. dei service was friendly, fast and attentive. I have baked the black back steak with cheese and ham with an salad for eur 15,20. I was asked if I wished more (Pommes,Bratkartoffeln, but I was gratefully rejected. the food was very tasty and much. good that I did not want to add; combines a beautiful restaurant."
