"My wife and I had an exceptional dinner here with excellent service from the head waiter highly recommend if your a fish or meat eater. I had the melon and king prawn salad to start with and it was fantastic, could have been eaten it all day. For main course I had the Saibling fish (trout) sweet and delicious! For dessert I had zwetschgen (plum) strudel with warm sauce delicious! Highly recommended!"

We had dinner here on a winter night. The food is very well and tastefully prepared. The menu has a choice of game. High quality. Personnel was, unfortunately, in a bit of a hurry and could be a little more friendly.

Visited the restaurant based on a recommendation from a local. Had a wonderful meal. Especially happy to order the reindeer saddle that was perfectly cooked. Apparently popular among local families. One suggestion is that the menu could be in English rather than translate to our waiter.

We came here as part of a large group of about 20 people. This is quite a high end restaurant although prices are reasonable. I would say the food is pretty good. I had a grilled fish fillet that was very well prepared. However, we did have to wait 2 hours for our food to be served, which was a bit off-putting.

"For years we have been making a carnival holiday in Hinterzarten and until last year we have always been home guests in the Schwarzwaldhof; details about the hotel and the restaurant I am saving at this point, that can be all on the Internet under [here link] also the menu. Especially at the carnival time (or even at Christmas) there is a lot of going on in hints and in most restaurants you have to get really luck without booking; this applies both at lunchtime and in the evening. Individuals or couples may have luck; Groups are odd. We ate the peasant vesper plate at the peasant stable of the Schwarzwaldhof in the afternoon; as they already know and at the price of just EUR 7.00, this plate is already almost unbeatable. Two slices of coarse liver and bloodworm, each two slices of swarms, bacon and black forests of hamspeck, onion rings, cucumbers and dark peasant bread. Tastes really very good and is saturating until evening when you brush the plate completely. Here the price/performance ratio is really very harmonious; for all dishes, especially from the lunch or evening ticket, this does not apply in the Schwarzwaldhof. And for me a little manko on the edge: there is no red house but Fürstenberg! The ambience in the peasant stüble is extremely rustic and somewhat antiqued in the other restaurant rooms. The rooms are okay; above all we liked the tower room with skybed very well! Our serviceman in the Stüble was, first of all, talkable, and straight to a Lexicon on two legs; for hours, I wouldn't have carried him, good friend back or back!"
