"We had heard about this restaurant when it was a private club, and we were surprised to learn that it was now open to the public after reading a story in the Chicago Tribune about its upcoming closure at the end of July. Service, atmosphere, and the food is tremendous!!! It is such a shame that this restaurant is closing this July. The Anvil Club is a lovely restaurant that was previously exclusive to private club members, but has now opened up to the public since the lockdown. Although they still offer private wine lockers for members in the basement, this location has a cozy and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a nice dinner out. We recently had a wonderful wedding rehearsal dinner here for a small group of 12 to 15 people in one of their connecting rooms. The restaurant also featured a skilled piano player providing live music, adding to the ambiance.
