"We had dinner last night (opening night) and we had very low expectations mainly because of opening night kinks previous owners. We were very pleasantly surprised! We started with some appetizers for the table calamari (perfectly cooked) and spinach artichoke dip served with delicious crostini both were spectacular! Our entrees were rigatoni in a yummy, creamy sauce with perfectly cooked shrimp, spinach tomatoes and my husband truly enjoyed his burger fries. The servings are a good size and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I hope they can keep this up because we may have found our new favorite lakeside restaurant!"

"I've visited over a dozen wineries and this experience was my favorite. Most of the wines here are very drinkable on their own. If you want to try delicious wine and have a good time, definitely come here. I learned about the history of the winery and how their wines are made on the tour and met some cute goats. All of the staff are attentive and kind. Note that there are tastings every half an hour if you want their set tasting (comes with a free glass). You can also go to another counter if you want to pick your own selections. I ended up doing both types of tastings as they have so many wines. This was my favorite winery even before visiting, and my trip here solidified its place on my ranking list."

"I'd give this place zero stars if I could. We were staying nearby in Hammondsport and were looking for dinner. We walked in 50 minutes before closing and other than 4 people at the bar, were the only patrons. The girl that took our order was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. Same goes for the guy working the grill. We ordered at the counter and of course, this is a place that asks for a tip when you order, before you know how awful the experience is about to be. This was our worst experience in all of the Fingerlakes, which was otherwise great. Most people we encountered were warm and welcoming. The girl taking our order was pleasant and joking with the other patrons at the bar. The cook was forced to acknowledge us when we asked for something. We ate our bland burgers and fries and left immediately. Never once being thanked or checked on. I have no idea how this place is open if this is how they treat customers. I read some other similar reviews and can't help but wonder if those folks have anything in common with us. Don't go here, this place doesn't deserve your business."

"First visit to the Timber Stone Grill while on vacation for my wife's Birthday. They have a nice outside patio seating section to go along with the inside dining and bar. The ambiance is pub style yet the menu and execution are upscale, along with the prices. We started with the Hearts of Romaine salad $12) to share, a well dressed salad with shaved Parmesan cheese, peppercorn and baguette croutons which was very tasty. Next we had the Tuscan Style Calamari $16), capers, olives, scallions, sweet peppers, this was very interesting and quite good, not your standard Calamari for sure. The Birthday girl had the Bistro Tenderloin $38), with green beans and roasted garlic whipped potatoes piped into a decorative pillowy mound. She throughly enjoyed all, the tenderloin cooked to a perfect medium as requested. I went with the Bone in Ribeye $46), topped with bacon, scallions and blue cheese crust with the green beans and whipped potatoes. My steak was a bit past medium as requested one side stayed on too long as demonstrated by the uneven ring), the bacon and blue cheese where a nice addition as the steak sans crust was not that flavorful. I didn't feel it warranted the price as this in the league of steakhouses I frequent and this steak wasn't on that level unfortunately. We ended with 2 Lemon Cheesecakes $8) served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and regrettably raspberry sauce garnish which I feel they should ask if you would like added as neither of us like it. The Birthday girl had hers comped which was very nice. Our server Brian was a star, extremely personable and attentive, it was a pleasure watching him work his other tables as well and make time to chat, then wisk away to handle his next task. Overall we had a very nice time at the Timber Stone Grill, a pub with a fine dining menu and presentation. Cheers"
