"One of the best dives on the east side!!! Everything on the menu is great, Holly is great (never an empty drink on her watch always a good slope. If you go for lunch, ask for The BENDER The Burger is a good start, then stack it on the Capicola and tops it with three cheeses... Eat the frits for the desert if you have a room after the bender : • VIP smoking area is a little cramped in cold weather."

Very much a dive bar but with a great twist. They make a lot of food, good bar food. The fried bread tacos were beautiful but I had Italian sausage sandwich and breaded mushrooms. Very good and brou3half home. Staff very nice.

The food was awesome. Fast and friendly service. I plan on returning on a Friday to try steak night. I live by the fairgrounds and have tried the food at several of the neighborhood bars and this pub by far has the best hot sausage sandwich and onion rings in this area. I was extremely happy with this little dive. I recommend it to anyone who likes to eat!

"The Coup de gras after I ran the Des Moines Marathon: I went down to see Dirt Burger in downtown Des Moines. What I got was the best veggie burger no, the best BURGER I ever had. Why? It was muddy and savory, saucy and full of different textures. It was a perfect mouth. Like a big Mac, only without the disappointing patty and bread in the middle. I know you'll say I forgot and taste like meat. No. I know for some people the ideal burger is a meat patty with fat that runs down your arm. I understand. I have preferred a veggie burger, and I think that is more interesting with many impractical tastes, and it's health food except that with so many whole food ingredients it is somehow. But it felt really exhausting for me, especially when I recommended it with their real potato frits and the tiger sauce the staff. And she was right. As they once said on my beloved show boss! with Lenny Henry, I never had a liquid as good as in my life. They had vegan shakes that looked absolutely amazing, but I had no one to share, and I knew that I would be in pain after I had everything in... I'm funny too, but I had a granola in the hotel room I was pretty excited about. Anyway, all this and gluten-free as I ordered it on the GF reel. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I'm seriously jealous that Iowa has this joint, but it's all for the best as I would win 5 lb a week if this place was on the street."

"Love the restaurant had awful service at the end and took 30 min to get cashed out. Server struggled with bill and there was no manager support. Odd because it is very well run. Will definitely go back and hope the server gets more support/training. Awesome spot."

"we had reservations, but when we arrived, our table was not completely finished. the host was in constant communication about our table and offered to get drinks for us while we waited. once sitting, the waiting staff was great. the drinks were amazing and the food was delicious. we will definitely come back!"
