None of the pictures or reviews here reflect reality, because Gohan-ya has been taken over by Lovely Day which serves tasty Thai food, but disappointing Japanese food on a small side-menu titled Gohan-yaI came here for some Japanese comfort food (the curry that gohan-ya was known for) and was given a runny broth with sichuan peppers and a fork to eat it with. It wasn’t awful but certainly wasn’t what was advertised or something I’d ever order again.Also they only take cash or Amex here"

i ordered delivery from here today and it was very late but honestly the food was so good i couldn’t begin to be mad. it tastes like home cooking, but prepared by someone with professional skill. it made me feel cozy inside. <3

The food was terrible! It was awful and a complete disaster. It was a culinary nightmare that I would never recommend. The place was also very dirty and smelled like something had died. Additionally, they copied the name of the previous restaurant, "gohan."

I visited Gohan-ya, which is the same restaurant as A Lovely Day, and ordered their salmon dinner with two sides. The meal tasted like something I could easily make at home. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was that they only accept American Express or cash, so I had to use the ATM inside the restaurant.
