Great alternative restaurant with delicious food. Ideal for small and larger groups

We were very excited to visit this place after we have noticed in recent months the essential reviews, mostly very positive with the occasional, discursive voice. The standard dinner here is a 4-course menu, no choices, family style, for a fee of CHF59 per head. They offer various seasonal themes, during our visit the kitchen of Piedmonte was their choice, which happens to be one of our Italian favorites. We had a rather unusual experience in that, as their main room was full, we sat on a long table in the side room, which was mainly set up for private parties. This restaurant is a very homely, family place. Almost gives you the experience when you go to relatives or friends for a beautiful Sunday dinner. That means there is a set menu that will be a surprise. Every day they cook something new. Usually there are four dishes served in rustic bowls. On the table you help yourself from these bowls. Just like at home when your family celebrates something. Although I don't know that the menu is a bit risky, in the case of Hammerli Palace I would like to take this risk every day.
