"fist from everything, let me begin by saying that we were very happy to find out that they were open on Sunday are not too many restaurants. it was another restaurant in this building that I visited every time I was in the city. (I visit toes several times a year) it makes me satisfied that this new one makes something good to eat. the service was well attentive and fast, and as I said, the food was quite good, my friends dish was delicious, they order the black snake, I was jealous! now regarding my garnel tacos; they were good, but I wish I was informed that they were spicy, I barely finish them, they were still good. but one, the building is beautiful and they have a really cute courtyard, I hope they get some improvements on it."

"There have been several very pointed negative reviews of this restaurant primarily involving service that I'd like to comment on. In fact, the reviews are so negative that I had to check this place and the owners out for myself to see what reality truly was. I arrived about 6:30p and was immediately offered an inside or outside table. I took the outside table since it was a nice evening and would also test the service. Nice helpful waiter arrived with menus within a couple of minutes. My drink order was taken 2-3 minutes later. The drink was delivered 3-4 minutes after that. The dinner order was taken timely and my food was delivered hot and in a less than normal amount of time. And it was EXCEPTIONAL food. Wanting to tell the owners that I was glad I checked it out for myself, I asked the waiter if the owners were at the restaurant that evening. Sure the waiter replied, I'm Antonio I told him how great the meal was and told him I really wanted to meet his wife Sarah who had been written about so often to see if she was as mean and rude as the reviews said she was. He laughed and said just a minute. Sarah came out about 5 minutes later and I told her she was becoming a cult hero. She also laughed saying the reviews painted a false picture and I have to agree. She said she was was glad I had come to check it out myself, and told me a number of others had recently done the same, and had reached the same conclusion. Here's my take: everyone knows staffing is next to impossible these days, especially in a smaller tourist-oriented town like Taos. If you go to a restaurant with great food and it's crowded (as it should be), don't expect minute by minute service. Be patient and understanding. If you want service at the snap of your fingers, go when it's not crowded. Go early in the evening. Otherwise, be patient and polite. There is no doubt in my mind the negative reviews and Sarah's pointed replies are likely in response to some impatient, demanding and unrealistic attitudes. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting exceptional food at a fair price."

"This would have been a 5-star experience, but it went down at the end. Our server was super chilly and sweet. She was very attentive for the first hour and 1/2. After that we were almost ignored by her, as she took care of larger and more lucrative parties. The manager came up, but why couldn't she take our bill? We sat there for a 1/2 hour. In my book there is no Taos Time in expensive restaurants. There is a standard of service that should be maintained without excuses. The mushroom Bisque was brilliant, the steak was good, the flavors all well, but I expect that I was consistent and all the way through just as I was at the beginning. Not disturbing dressing on, there were jeans and ski vests here as in most places (which is cool and not cool) service is important and you can lose the reputation on this alone, even if the food is good. Desserts were huge! Would I go back? I haven't decided yet (and yes, we buy land in the area, so I'm not just a tourist or touron)."

"We had a wonderful experience eating at the fire. The food was delicious, very tasty with some unique spices I had not before, as this was my first time to eat Ecuadorian. Obviously there is a lot of heart placed in the food, the menu and the decor. Reservation tip: The Google reservation button does not work. I tried to call the restaurant for several nights unsuccessful until I could book by phone. I saw some people coming and sitting successfully without reservations - so if you hit outside, maybe just try you luck!"

"When you visit Taos, NM, you must go to Farmhouse. It’s tucked in with a furniture store another good size store towards the back of the property off Rte 64 outside the village. It has a large parking lot off to the side and lovely gardens to wander through as you wait to be seated. This place is popular! And no wonder- the Food is Delicious! The scones are so buttery tummy you’ll want to take some home We ate breakfast there- generous servings, good service beautiful outdoor seating. Lunches we’re being served also and it all looks amazing!"
