"We happened to stop in Krems on our way to a holiday in the region and as we were walking around this gorgeous old city, we spotted this place and decided to stop for lunch. It's a guesthouse and restaurant that has operated since 1895 or something like that. It's housed in a gorgeous building couple of streets over from the shopping street. If you don't detour from the Main Street in town you won't find this place. They serve traditional Austrian food and the menu is quite extensive. They also had a daily card and as it was end of Spargel season, a couple of dishes with asparagus. They also have about a dozen wines from the area by the glass besides other drink choices. Das Essen ist im Gasthaus Jell immer sehr gut, man kann bedenkenlos einkehren.Die überdachte Terrasse ist schattig und bei höheren Temperaturen sehr angenehm.Service freundlich und flink.

Delicious!! And a very kind staff. They have an English menu for those of us who only have enough German to order wine and coffee and be polite. Also, the owner came out to wish everyone well. A good place to stop!

Habe vor einigen Jahren einmal sehr gut hier gegessen und war voller Vorfreude auf einen erneuten Besuch. Mit ganzer Familie am Muttertag angereist. Katastrophe: Wir wurden in eine Art Abstellraum gesetzt. Der bemühten aber leider hoffnungslos überforderten Kellnerin fielen Messer und Gläser aus der Hand, dass Essen war teilweise ungenießbar, offenbar waren die Teller ausgegangen und so wurden die doch recht hochpreisigen Speisen in ungeeigneten Tellern serviert. Der Gipfel dann der Rauswurf um 14.30 (Reservierung ab 13.00) von einem offenbar lustlosen und unmotivierten Team. Schade ! Sicher nie wieder!!!!
