The Bagel Shop is an unassuming, deceptively urbane looking storefront, in an industrial area of town, it 's certainly not on the main drag of Homer, but that does not affect how busy it gets. Inside the entryway, you 'll order your bagel, from the chalkboard with the choices of what 's available. There are cold drinks in a chiller, if you desire, or get coffee or tea if that 's your preference. A bit hetic on weekend mornings but well worth the wait. The best bagels in Alaska in my humble opinion) Get a bagel sandwich which is more than large enough for two meals. Just stop in, you won't regret it.

We tried this place twice when we were visiting Homer from Anchorage. There are a shortage of bagels in Alaska! These are boiled NY style bagels. The first time we went was in the afternoon kind of later and they had about 4 flavors. We just wanted to try so we got the smoked salmon shmear on an onion bagel. The bagel had huge pieces of dried onion all over the top, it was good. The smoked salmon cream cheese spread was very good as well. Had capers in it which were ok. Also got a chocolate chip cookie which was delicious too.
