"You can call ahead 30 minutes before arriving. They don 't take reservations. This place was packed. We went up around this area Saturday for the Aerosmith concert. I came here a year ago I always wished I could have that pizza again. We lucked out and got seated immediately. It is a bit loud in the main hall. They do have a specials menu. They also have gluten free options. Our waitress was accommodating and had a good sense of humor. The Best Damn Pepperoni Pie was damn good. The balance of flavors, the kick from the peperoni, the freshness from the oregano, and the softness of the ricotta made it a great pie. The dough is made locally, as well. A very nice wood fire pizza. The pulled pork sandwich, Like Melted Gold was also really good! I liked the slaw on top. Added more spice, and the texture from the slaw was good too. The sauce was a nice touch as well. The buns weren 't all drenched in sauce and they weren 't soggy soft yet firm. My friends enjoyed their meals drink. One had The Sweetest Mess , she really liked it. The other had a gluten free crust pizza, and she was impressed by it. The other had a hot dog, and he really liked how the hot dog bun was grilled. They can give you just a regular hot dog, too, if you want. They give you mustard and ketchup when asked. The fries were good as well. Our waitress was very nice and had a sense of humor. I noticed that the Fear The Fungus burger on the menu said If our mushrooms make you hallucinate, please inform us immediately so we can overcharge you . I asked the waitress if she 'd still overcharge me if I hallucinated from any of the other food. She said no. : Great experience."

"Reviews on this wee restaurant looked very good, so during the exploration of the Bangor area we stopped. Parking is terrible on a busy passage with beautiful views of the river. We went in and we were shocked how small this restaurant is! Only five tables and five cabins along the wall with soda machines, prep counters, a small 3-seat bar and a hostess stand on the floor. Since there was no table, we waited outside for the benches, but we only had to wait five minutes until we guided inside and sit on one of the stands. There is not only a large menu, but a white board full of daily specialties. Seafood, lobster rolls, fish stew, burger, roasted chicken, hot dogs....with appetizers and desserts too. We chose the fried fish sandwich and the cheeseburger plus a soda and an ice tea (no alcohol). We waited about 20 minutes for our food, but it was fresh and hot. The Cheeseburger had a huge fleshy patty, much bigger than the poor bungalow he was served with. The fish sandwich was a gigantic full-sleep fillet, fried without being greasy with a very light bread period. French frits served with both plates were crisp and tasty. We were stuffed after eating the sandwiches, but wanted a piece of Maine Blueberry Pie. We shared a large slice, slightly 1/4 of a cake, but unfortunately it was not homemade and the fruit filling was gloppy and the berries too big to be Maine berries. Service was rushed and harried but friendly. Overall for a tea, soda, tow sandwich plates and a piece of cake was $33.89 at the top."

"I came here for the first time last night with my mother. I 've been to other Mexican restaurants in the area many times over the years, and while I 've always been satisfied with the food at other establishments, I wanted to give Las Palapas a try as well. Boy am I glad I did! The restaurant has a casual south-of-the-border vibe, and is also festively decorated. There is a bar with seating, and numerous comfortable booths in the dining area. We were greeted and served very quickly, so right away the service stood out from other local restaurants as being fast and friendly. The menu options are extensive and what you 'd expect from a Mexican restaurant--tacos, burritos, fajitas etc, but also a few items unique to the restaurant. The prices of most dishes are average, but they have nightly specials, and we somehow got an extremely low special price on house margaritas last night! Not only was the service friendly, but everything came out quickly as well--the drinks, the corn chips and salsa, our meal, and our dessert, and our server made sure to check on us occasionally if we needed anything. And best of all, everything was delicious! We ordered the chimichangas for our main, which come as one beef and one chicken, and served with sides of refried beans and a Mexican rice. Everything was very tasty, and I loved the shredded chicken and beef inside the chimis, which was perfectly seasoned and tender. The lime margaritas were delicious as well, and even the small was sizable. Having been to other Mexican restaurants for years and receiving generally slow service and mixed results on the food, after our experience last night Las Palapas will now be our go-to and I 'd highly recommend it!"
