"I really want to give this place 5. The bartender was great, the servers were nice, the atmosphere was solid, but the food had a few technical issues I can't overlook. I ordered my burger medium, it came out well done. No biggie, I can eat that. But it was also under seasoned. I honestly think the cook forgot to. And the fries... Man I get it, fresh cut shoestring fries are great. These are in n out style single fry fries. Which means they get soft and soggy fast because they aren't blanched. No problem, eat them fast! I tried that, which leads to my actual issue. The plating. It's served on this tiny wood cutting board (go, bacteria! With barely enough space to hold the food. I made a huge mess, was eating mushrooms off the bar just to not waste them. And ew, btw. And those easily soggy fries? Served in a big metal cup with no ventilation. Presentation wise it's OK, but execution? The top fries steam the bottom ones. You can't get crispy fries at the bottom even after the 3 minutes I took to eat them. It's basic thermodynamics. This place needs fry baskets and I'd have poured them on my plate to prevent it... IF I HAD ONE. Great beef though. Well cooked mushrooms and onions on the steakhouse burger. Just... season more, and give me a plate please. The presentation harms the food, that's culinary 101 of things not to do. Damn good drinks though. The **** Mary alone is worth a visit. Take my 3 as a technical critique of the food, but this place is still worth a look. Just maybe avoid the fries or ask for a plate."

"We decided to try this restaurant because, having been there under different management, we remembered the magnificent view, beautiful dining room and hoped the food would be better than their predecessors. It wasn 't! We were seated at the only table with no view, blocked by a wall jutting into the dining room. We ordered drinks but weren 't offered menus or specials for almost 20 minutes. We were served a complimentary bruscetta made from olives and artichokes (mine had bits of olive pits in it complaint ignored. Selections on the menu were so limited that it was difficult to decide what to eat. I ordered the special appetizer, burrata cheese with arugula and proscuitto...it was delicious. My main course was an incredibly boring and tasteless chicken Toscana dish. Two of the members in my party liked their chicken scarpiello very much and the fourth member really disliked her swordfish, truthfully looked and tasted poor. I would like to add that the beautiful dining room, after the sun went down, was very bright and, for those looking for romance, you might want a dimmer candlelit room. Dessert, and here I RAVE, was a chocolate, espresso mousse. Really divine, wish I hadn 't had to share it. We were also offered a complimentary sparkling dinner wine. Because it 's right in my local area and a beautiful restaurant, I might give it another chance, and would definitely ask for a table with a view next time."
