"B&J’s is an exception in todays limited selection of breakfast spots. A staple for the small community of Syracuse and a destination for souls like me seeking a great home cooked breakfast. Food quality is superb, the me us is somewhat limited but contains all the staples. They offer an all you can eT breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings at a crazy low price of $7.99 one plate pass or $13.99 for unlimited. All the staples plus a nice selection of fruit. Off street parking makes for an easy spot to park. I dinged the atmosphere some just as it felt tight with all the folks present and small kids can be a bit loud at times. "So last night we ordered a haddock dinner, shrimp dinner, clam strip dinner, and a order of fried mushrooms. The only thing done right was the shrimp dinner. The fish was dry and overcooked. The clam strips were way over cooked, tough and rubbery, and you could literally taste the oil in the batter. They tasted about 6 hours old. To top it off they substituted my mushrooms with fried cauliflower, as if I wouldn't notice. Complete waste of $50. I'm originally from New England so I know good seafood and this was by far the worst seafood I've ever had. It won't happen again!"

"PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR TABS!Stopped in for appetizers and drinks for lunch last week. Everything was okay.What is not okay is the included gratuity on the tab. We were a party of two on a weekday afternoon, why is there included gratuity? Two appetizers and 3 drinks for $70 with your included gratuity and you want more...why?I'm guessing it's more of an issue with staff being underpaid but quite frankly that isn't my problem. I won't be patronizing any restaurant that feels two tips is a necessary means to an end. It's middle-of-the-road Mexican--not fine dining. Charge more for the food if you have to, but do not put it on your customers to ensure your staff can survive."

"booth that we set ourselves at least 10 from the table away. the benches are not adjustable, so we are sitting in front of the entire meal. my steak was ordered well, but it was **** inside. the waitress took it back to the kitchen to cook more than to sit our kartoffel and get cold. as for the next question, they recommend to a friend, probably with a warning."

"Four of us good buddies did a winter Men's Retreat' in Syracuse's Armory Square to spend some time together and enjoy some bars and restaurants. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and did a bit of a pub crawl over a couple of days. Kitty Hoyne's is literally a crosswalk away from the hotel, so we stopped in here twice... once for evening drinks and once for lunch. We stopped in on a Wednesday night for drinks and the bar wasn't too full. We were able to get seats at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive and friendly. We had a good time but did find that the overall pub area is pretty loud. Also, the beer list was pretty good but not a lot of Irish' beers (just the usually Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks)... they had other beer on draft so there was something for everyone. We tried the famous' corned beef fritters.... perfectly cooked and filled with corned beef and Russian dressing. They were tasty but very rich, so one or two go a long way. We came back the next day for lunch and were seated in a quiet section of the dining area. Service was attentive and the food good. I had some sort of in-house smoked corned beef with cheese on a multi grain bread with fries... excellent. The pub is friendly, roomy, and has excellent service... highly recommended!"
