"Visited Vienna 20 years ago and it didn't really make much of an impression on me. When reading up about the city this time round, the coffee house culture really interested me, so decided to try to visit as many as possible. There was scaffolding outside when we got to Korb, which was a shame. We sat outside and got served by an arrogant waiter (though I understand through the guidebook that Viennese waiters are known for being brusque). We ordered the strudel which apparently they are famed for and I got a Sacher torte and iced coffee. My husband enjoyed the strudel though the torte was dry. The iced coffee was strong and absolutely delish though (and kept me awake all night!). I wandered...

Authentique Austrian cuisine. This restaurant is an institution in the city, where many famous people can be seen. The have a special desert, and their Strudel is know too.

I had lunch here during a trip to Austria. The food was good, though admittedly I was unhappy about the cleanliness of the place.When I attempted to order a coffee with hazelnut syrup in it, I was laughed at and told it wasn't a Starbucks. It was an odd reaction - in hindsight I suppose it was quite dumb of me to wonder if they had it (as it seemed more of a diner, less of a coffee shop). But still, it was an awkward response. Aside from that joke though, the workers seemed quite bitter. They did their jobs, but otherwise seemed uptight. Overall the experience was just okay. I appreciated the old school (somewhat outdated) look and style of the place, and the food was good. I just didn't fee...
