"The Caprice is an old school steak and seafood restaurant, and I mean that as a compliment. Its a quiet neighborhood with amazing Bay/Golden Gate views from Tiburon. We tried it for the first time recently and were a little apprehensive since there were very few other diners in the restaurant when we arrived on a Friday night a little after 6:00 p.m. (which is admittedly early, but I still would have expected more diners. It was our anniversary which I waiter knew he congratulated us we were a tad disappointed that a surprise dessert never was offered.

From the valet, to the bartender to the host to the waiter: everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was good. The NYE prices were steep but expected. Too bad the place is sold to new management after 50 years. Hopefully things only change for the better for the staff and customer.

We went for Thanksgiving and had some of the traditional foods for dinner. The server was wonderful, as was the view (that’s what we were there for, tbh). The food didn’t use great quality ingredients or creative presentation, but the desserts were yum! This is one of those restaurants that probably hasn’t changed its core menu since the 70s and caters to an older crowd, but overall not a bad experience for a meal with an unbeatable view.

"When I came in, I asked if they could make a dish without a fish sauce. They said they could use oyster sauce instead. He said it was shells. When I said I was vegan, he hit a variety of options, including wok dishes with soy sauce. I was very happy with the tofu, basil and aubergine roots I demanded. I didn't expect the meal to be so diverse. I asked about the three main articles and mushrooms. I also received water chestnuts, snow beans, green beans, carrots and cabbage."

"We had a very enjoyable dinner outside on the open deck (plenty of heaters). Our entrees, the beet pasta w/dungenous crab and lobster ravioli were outstanding. Cocktails were very nice as well. Our shared ahi starter was just okay. I would’ve liked a wider variety of wines by the glass, but overall or meal, and the ambiance, was excellent."

"Yum; best Italian fare I've had in a while and that's saying a lot cause I eat Italian often! The Gnudi was so divine I gave up being a vegetarian for 2 nites. So tender delicious. Also the portions here are unusually generous so it's worth every . Ands the little details, like a full half juicy lemon with my spinach...Things like that make a difference. I've recently moved back to Marin. I'm gonna be a Poggio fangirl regular!"

"That was a pleasant surprise. The ambience and location indicate your average Italian family restaurant. But the service was old-style (i.e. impeccable) and the food was just excellent. Each piece shows that the cook cares about itself. This approaches Michelin Star quality. I come from San Jose and don't come to Sausalito. But the price-performance ratio could make me skip San Francisco and cross the bridge for the occasional special dinner in Aurora Sausalito. This is not the place to impress your first date (the ambience is too generic), but it would be a good place to impress your gourmet friend, especially if they like Italian cuisine."

"The restaurant is located in an amazing spot with stunning views of the bay. I thoroughly enjoyed the wine that was suggested to me and the food was fantastic! I visited on a Sunday specifically to see the live salsa band featuring Julio Bravo. I also had the pleasure of watching some talented dancers during my visit."
