"Wonderful swiss-italian grotto restaurant. On each of my visits here the food has been wonderful, and the staff and service have been kind and superb. The polenta is excellent and I must say the coniglio (rabbit) and lughanigetta (local sausage) were outstanding. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant."

"This restaurant, in my opinion, alternates positives with negatives. I will begin by illustrating the positives based on my experience. The parking is situated near the location and is quite extensive to potentially offer hospitality to all guests. However, between the restaurant and the parking there is a change in inclination so if you have with you a person who cannot walk, I highly recommend to first reach the place by car before going to park. We ate outside as the weather was nice so I cannot judge the interior. Outside there is a discreet number of tables (considering the number of inhabitants of the nearby towns and the numerous restaurants present in the area to create competition it is good), which are intelligently distributed. The waiters can thus easily pass by safely with multiple plates. Many tables and benches are made of stone, which can be viewed as a traditional eating experience or as a huge pain you know where depending on how you look at it. The shade provided from the trees can be timely in summer, and the fact that you can eat outside ensures that the noise of the surrounding tables is reduced. There was, however, music playing from a stereo which can be disturbing. The most positive aspect is certainly the friendliness of the waiter. He passed by several times to ensure we were satisfied and the also took care of the needs of our appetite presenting some options not written on the menu. The first negative aspect is the waiting time. We ordered a plate of cold cuts (you remove these from the fridge and put them on a plate) which took over 20 minutes to arrive. The main course took even longer so perhaps this is a tendency that is to be seen here. The place was discreetly visited, with a few tables that were still free, but the delay in serving was not understandable. The second aspect is the taste. The traditional grotto with traditional exclusive dishes is not to be found anywhere anymore, I am aware of this, but the polenta and mushrooms which was served to me had a purely artificial taste, almost store bought. This is definitely not worthy of a traditional restaurant. The worst aspect of it all? The price. 29 CHF for elaborated flour with mushrooms (the portion wasn't even big as I left with a half empty stomach. I still dream of having back all that money in excess which I lost. 29 CHF for a meal without meat is just ridiculous, yes even for Swiss standards! In conclusion, this place definitely has the traditional location and friendliness of the staff as strengths, but if you are not willing to sell something to have an average-tasted meal, choose another restaurant."
