"A group of our friends in stowe vt sought something else, so we decided to try Stowe Fondue. I never had a sitting fondue dinner, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I can say that I was blown away from the whole experience. Our waitress was very nice and made us feel comfortable. Although I live in the area, I had never eaten in the Stowe Inn or Stowe Fondue, but the restaurant interior was surprisingly beautiful. It is a fairly open restaurant with different levels that all have a beautiful view of the huge glass windows that surround the entire restaurant room. Now to the important part THE FOOD! 1. Course: Fondue. We tried the special at night, that was a pilsner/red pepper cheese...

We had the opportunity to visit last week with a group of friends for dinner. It was actually my first experience with Fondue and I enjoyed it very much! We tried the cheese fondue special they offered on that night that was amazing. For dinner we drove with the Bouruignonne with steak, lamp Lollipops, pork pliers and shrimps. We all had a great time to cook the meat and enjoy the whole experience. We finished the meal with the chocolate fondue that was delicious. Very attentive service and great ambience. I can't expect to go back!

I visited Stowe Fondue the other night for dinner. It is one of the latest restaurants in Stowe VT and it is also one of the best! I went with a small group. Our waitress was great and the food was great. My favourite was the hot oil fondue where we cooked all kinds of meat. The cheese fondue was also great I forget what mix we had, but it was amazing. We finished with chocolate fondue that came to diving with an assortment of fruits. I think my favorite was the NY Strip Steak, which was boiled in the hot oil, it just needs a minute or something to reach the perfect temperature. If you are looking for a Swiss fondue restaurant in stool, don't look further because Stowe Fondue is. One of my f...

Dinner here last night and I was like fonduuuude this place is sweet. The dining room is elegant, but you can't run a problem wearing jeans. They had to play upbeat music and it was well lit, but not too bright, so you can still see outside at night. The dining room is lined with floor to ceiling windows for panoramic views of the river and the city. We started with the house made Brezel bites that were brilliant. Solid beer selection, also they make a medium gin tonikum. There were four of us, so we ordered two 3 courses fondue meals. We all have different things to try. For the fondue we had the House Special (Cochdarpilsner this night) and the traditional Swiss fondue (Gruyere Emmenthaler...

"Dining at Edson Hill is clearly meant to be an experience. They certainly charge you for it. At those prices, execution and flavor need to be spot on, and they just ... weren't. Pumpkin soup was so bland and thick, it was like eating flavorless applesauce. Scallops were very good, and cooked nicely, but thrown on top of a pile of spaghetti squash that, again, lacked any flavor. It was clearly squash season, but not a hint of spice or nutmeg. The duck was the highlight of the meal, and the only dish that was executed correctly. Our steak frites was so disappointing. The cut should have been saved for well done, it was not a quality piece of filet, which is the wrong steak for a frites anyways. The fries were perfect and plentiful, but when the fries outshine the steak on a frites plate, that's a problem. For $52 I expect a nice cut. Everything lacked salt and pepper. Dessert was fine, but the cheesecake didn't taste of pumpkin at all, and really didn't taste of cheesecake either, more of a slightly sour mousse cake. All in all, this was a lesson. Take your money to Montreal or the Eastern Townships. They do fine dining better, cheaper, and more casually so you don't have to play along with the stilted service only to be disappointed by the food. Edson Hill is meant for an over 50 crowd who is still more impressed by an obsequious maitre d'hotel than by properly seasoned food."
