The waitress suggested the carnitias tacos saying they were the best on the menu and were super flavorful so I chose that. When they came to the table they were extremely small and tasteless. I was very disappointed"

"Oh brother, this place stinks. We bought 9 tickets to a bottomless mimosa brunch. When we arrived, all of the bigger tables were taken except for one. When I asked a server if we could sit there, I was met with empty eyes. The lights were on but no one was home. Another server told us the table was reserved, so we tried to move two tables together. All of a sudden, the first server came back to life to tell us we weren’t allowed to do that. It was a miracle! After waiting on a server for awhile, we went up to try to order at the bar. The bartenders told us we couldn’t order at the bar even though the flyer at our table told us we could. A server finally came over to our table, and after repeating our drink orders 5 times, we finally had a mimosa.I think any MLM girlie from my high school could run a business better. A real shame given the food was delicious."

"The food was ok. The queso was fantastic! We ended by ordering the chocolate cake, and it was huge, dry, and tasted like it came from the microwave. There was ice cream on top, but only a couple of spoon fills. It was not at all proportional to the size of the cake. Also, the corn in the ice cream made it feel like there were chunks of ice in it. I do not think we will eat there again"

The order was split, with the second half of our food taking at least 30 minutes longer to arrive. I was a bit disappointed, though, as I never saw our original bartender again after she took our food order. We were never offered a second round of drinks, and our glasses had been empty for at least half an hour. Despite this, I could tell that the bartender was skilled, and it might have just been bad timing that affected our service. I would definitely give the restaurant another chance, even though I was left wondering about the poor service I experienced. Overall, I think Nickel City deserves another opportunity to impress."

"That was my second visit. The 1st went well, but this time, the service was a 3/10. Our waiter took food orders, brought the food out and never took beverage orders. We were advised that a person escaped was not available, but not until the rest of the table came food. The food was half cold and not high quality. The restroom was evil, and the bartender came out of a bathroom stall, didn't wash her hands and went straight back to the bar. I was very disappointed with the overall experience."

"So I really like Meso Maya. Our server was just not great! It took 2 1/2 hours for dinner and 2 drinks per person for a party of 6. Server would disappear for 30 mins after drinks had been ordered. Once we got them, they were watered down. And not to mention no alcohol for a $15 drink. I ordered the Del Mar enchiladas. There’s NO lump crab meat in them. Only shrimp. The queso and guac was good… but everything else MEH. Mesero or Mexican Sugar would have been a better option."

"Recommended by a local moms group I reached out to Maggie Cooks regarding food for a 40 person baby shower. I cannot say enough good things about the experience, and of course, the FOOD. Maggie Jane were super easy to work with...they provided an initial menu based on my request, and we tweaked it easily from there. The food (apps, sandwiches, salads, and desserts) were all DELICIOUS and worked so so well together. I should also mention that the amount of food was perfect for my number of guests we had a few leftovers...but that's what I was hoping for! Highly highly recommend!"

"After we were all seated and looking at the menu, our server informed us that they were out of pretty much every kind of meat. Since it’s a BBQ place, that’s pretty much what we came for. We ended up leaving for a neighboring restaurant. It’s understandable that places might run out of food from time to time, but it would have been nice to know that before our reservation time, or at the very least when we checked in to be seated. While this was disappointing, we will be back, since their food is delicious."

"We came for the 50 cent wings and $2 beers. We had smoked wings with no sauce because they brought 4 different types of BBQ sauce to choose from, and we also got the Buffalo wings. The smoked wings were the winner. We like our wings cooked HARD these were done completely, but we like a hard skin, so we took them home to finish them off with a little broiler action. We drank PBR for our $2 beer (Bud was the other choice)...kind of fun to go back in time with a pint in hand. We sat on the patio and it was quiet. Since we live in River City, it is only a 10 minute walk. Many specials check it out. The sign says Pork Chop, but it is listed as Chop on Open Table, it seems to me that was the original name when the restaurant opened, it was more steak centered then, so it is hard to find on the Open Table list."

There was a stark contrast between it and the other food, almost like it was store bought. The Wine is as really good as well. The dessert cocktail tasted like grain alcohol."

"The chips were nicely seasoned and crisp. The salsa had an odd taste, almost sweet but mildly spicy. The fried chimi had a nice texture and good flavor. The service was disappointing. Ordered a bowl of queso which was only half gone when we ran out of chips. Took a very long time to get our server's attention to ask for more chips and a refill for one of our drinks. Got the drink when our food was delivered but not the chips. Was not able to get her attention again to request the chips or refills on our other drinks."

"Came here a few years ago and remembered enjoying it. This time the atmosphere was kind of lacking, but the food wasn’t bad. The service was mediocre and our server made the whole experience awkward when I told him I didn’t like my drink; he had a whole monologue prepared. I’ve been in the industry in ATL for years and never worked anywhere that gave so much pushback when someone hated something. (I had two sips of my drink, it was taken from the table, but I was still charged for it). So, warning; their house marg claims to be fresh squeezed lime juice but it’s disgustingly sweet. I know some people are into candy-sweet cocktails, but when I think “house margarita”, that isn’t it."
