"We'd been to Mama Bird in Slabtown quite a few times considering it literally almost shares a wall with our apartment at The Carson we're so close lol and seriously loved the food there. We then learned that the owner, Gabriel, actually owned this joint too, so we wanted to check it out. Then I read an article in the Thrillest that mentioned this spot which reminded us and confirmed that we HAD to go check it out. The time came and we made it 20 min before closing. We ordered the Turkey Reuben. The menu isn't that big, but for us that's a good thing b/c we only had 20minutes until they closed and we are the worst when it comes to an oversized menu. So short and to the point is great for us. They even offer seasonal sandwiches which I thought was cool to keep some variety. Okay, NOW I understand the hype, for real! This sandwich was disgustingly good!!! It was PACKED with flavors that went round and round. They all blend together beautifully with parts jumping out in each bite. You get some smoke from the turkey, then a zing from the slaw! The bread, perfect as well. Just the right toastyness to hold the sandwich together. The sandwich literally got better with each bite but making me sadder as each bite left me with that much less. And let's not forget the bonus side pickle. Mixing it in with bites of the sandwich was a perfect pairing. It's not your standard dill (which I love a deli dill, I'm from NY) but instead, is one of the sweeter pickles that I don't typically like but with the sandwich was just amazing. Can't wait to come back!!!"
