"Get over the smell. For years I have boycotted this place because I couldn't get past the smell of damp, blue cheese, and something else disgusting mixed in. Finally my husband dragged me in and we had a good meal. I've been told time and time again that it is fancy, which is definitely not the case. Just good food for a good price. The shrimp cocktail is pretty whimpy, but the grat prices on bottles of wine will make you forget about that!"

"Great ocean view on a beautiful sunny day, sat outside soaking up the sun and watching the whale spouts, worth the min drive from Carmel. Food was average for a local oceanfront restaurant had Crab Salad Sliders, prime rib sandwich. Waiter couldn't get the kids plain burger right, kept coming out with other stuff on it which the kid won't it after it's tainted a pickle is touching it, I can't eat it!. There was a sign in the lobby saying they weren't serving cocktails until after which seemed odd for a place that does drinks with a view much better than their food"

"We have been at and enjoyed this restaurant several times. We made a reservation on Open Table that was confirmed. Had a long walk, parking 3 blocks away. Regardless, we arrived only to see a large sign in the front window “Closed for renovations. See you soon! Angry is not even close to our reaction. Who is the dumb ___ that didn’t notify their reservation site and hasn’t anyone noticed this situation? 12 other parties had made reservations the same day! Made rating all around is a huge zero"

"Pretty good American-style Japanese. There are some nice less common, more authentic dishes, but it's actually all quite tasty and made with good quality! "First time here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon on our way to Book Off in the Lakewood Mall Dined outside in their patio area. They were short staffed, however our server accommodated us when she dropped a chicken finger, however replaced them which our daughter got their chicken finger meal served with fries and apple sauce. My wife ordered grilled chicken pita sandwich and I got their falafel pita sandwich. Both of our meals came with their garlic and feta cheese fries. Mango iced teas to wash it down. Place was clean, service was good and we enjoyed our lunch."

"Made reservations a month ahead for Thanksgiving dinner. We were seated right away. I noticed the restaurant was full and a line for take-outs. The staff were friendly and hustling around as today's menu was simple, Thanksgiving meals. The only choices were, soup or salad... white, dark or both turkey meats,...pecan or pumpkin pie. We didn't wait long. Goodness, it was so delicious. The sides were mashed potatoes/gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, breaded stuffing and cranberry sauce. Lots of happy faces coming from staff and guests. If you don't have room for dessert they can box it To-go. Mimi's is the perfect cozy restaurant."

"Very disappointed with this meal. Me and my family use to go here on a regular basis. The corn chowder used to have a different color, consistency and flavor. It was cool and it lacked flavor. It used to be one of the best corn chowders in this state. The carrot muffin was undercooked and mushy. We used to buy a 6 to 8 pack of muffins to go they were so good. I know the franchise was bought several years ago but DO NOT CHANGE THE RECIPES. Going to cafeteria grade of food was the wrong choice. Fire the chef and get some competency back in the restaurant. Spruce up the tables and your furniture because they are falling apart. Go back to your old food and this 1978 franchise might make it to 2030. If not this franchise will fall like the rest of the sad chains from the Covid era and beyond."

"3 stars because it is my go-to restaurant and the food was excellent as usual. But I requested a more secluded outdoor table than the one I got (and there were ideal ones empty for our entire stay which made my unfulfilled request even more frustrating). It was loud at our table and the AC above one of the restaurant doors was dripping which was splashing on us (even after the waitress and I moved the table as much as we could away from the drip). Wind was worse than forecasted and although that is not the restaurant's fault, had we been at one of the more secluded tables they offer better sound and wind protection than the table they sat us at. I'll go there again for sure (the food IS excellent) but may stick to takeout next time!"

"The host took us to a dirty table, she got a towel n sweep the crumbs from the table to the table placemat n put back on the table...so we left that table n went to sit on the bench table outside where it was much cleaner. It's Christmas but wasn't even busy. Service is very slow, they forget to bring us hot sauce when we asked for it. Food was delicious. View was beautiful."

"He treated me less than human! When I bought my wonton soup I put an item in his garbage can and he started screaming, yelling, and running around the kitchen banging stuff saying how dare I put something in his garbage can—this is not a public garbage can! He threw my credit card and receipt on the counter and kept yelling until someone else entered the restaurant . I’ll NEVER spend my money there again!"
