"I was here three times last year. It's fast downhill. The first time I loved everything. The second time the food was chewing and the service was slow. Recently I made 8:00 reservations, came at 7:40 and had to wait until 8:50 to sit. People who had reservations after us because the hostess didn't know what she was doing. We ordered drinks that never came and it took our waiter well 15 minutes to remember that we asked to see the dessert tablet. No problem to remember bringing us the bill as soon as we put our forks down. Too bad. It was really a great place. I don't think they could handle how well they did. Even her food changed everything is chewing as if it was eaten and heated. Never back."

"This restaurant is a hidden jewel in Atlanta. We were in Atlanta for the OU/LSU playoff game and found this restaurant had a time slot after the game. We made the reservation through Open Table. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Sam, our server, was very friendly, attentive and helpful. After our trip, we all rated this our favorite meal. The wine selection is very good and there is free valet parking. I would highly recommend this hidden jewel when visiting Atlanta. The fish special was red snapper and was excellent."

"I adore this restaurant!! Consistently great food, inventive drinks, friendly impeccable staff. Decor and ambiance are perfection. But over the weekend, they told me they are closing in a week! So sad!! I can only assume with all the street construction and other places on this block shuttering that they fell away from top of mind for people. I hope they relocate. "Celebrated our 41st anniversary dinner here with friends. For the previous 13 years has celebrated at Manta at Mauna Kea, but the terrible reviews there made us switch at the last minute. Meridia was terrific. Our server E (for Elizabeth) was funny and factual. Every dish was great. I had the Wild Boar Ragu which was yummy. Our friends had the brick chicken and the scallops. "Food here was surprisingly very good. The fried plantain chips were crunchy and similar to a thick kettle chip crispy. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce but the sauce and accompanying ingredients made a refreshing dish. The salmon, a fish very easily overcooked, was delightfully tender without being raw. The side of asparagus could be charred a little less. Mashed potatoes have a hidden spiciness to them! The beer soaked brown sugar drunken ribeye steak was pretty good overall, however they didn't ask how we wanted it cooked. When asked, they said they cook a tender pink medium steak but did not take a request to make it medium rare. Strangely while most of the steak was a tender medium consistency, a smaller side portion was closer to a better medium rare to rare consistency. The cheesecake was pretty good overall. The warm chocolate cake was a bit dry on the sides but delicately smooth like pudding. The desserts had a contrasting tart sauce that overpowered the cheesecake just a little bit."

"Our server started off a little bit standoffish, I’m assuming he thought we were spring breakers, but after we talked to him a little bit he eased up. The food was absolutely fantastic, the preparation of the dishes, the fettuccine al tartufo was just perfect. the buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto were a bit underwhelming and I don’t understand why the mozzarella wasn’t cut. I get it, it is for the presentation but had we been offered a steak knife it would’ve made the dish much easier to eat and less messy. The steak that was on special was a T-bone If I remember it correctly. Was delicious but the salt was not sprinkled evenly, one piece was loaded with flaky sea salt and other pieces had no seasoning at all. Those are just little notes and truly are just nitpicking. Overall the food was fantastic, the ghost service was impeccable, pre-bussing was on point. I would’ve just appreciated a bit more warmth from our server and not be looked at like we annoy him or whatnot."

"It was a lovely neighborhood spot that recently renovated. No idea what it previously looked like but the current establishment is quaint and authentic looking. The staff was very pleasant. We started with steamed clams followed by roasted chicken and squash tacos. The food was very tasty, the portions on the the small side. Still we had a very pleasant evening and were glad to have chosen Mar's as our spot that night."
