"Our New Years Eve dinner started at 8:45 and ended at 11:45 because we had to get up abruptly. The food was slow getting to the table, and even for a 5 course meal, 3 hour is too much for dinner. The first course, the oyster, was served in a bed of salt without any warning and in a semi dark restaurant we could not tell that it was salt. My son got sick on the first bite and only could try one more dish before going to the restroom. The food not really what we expected, the lobster bisque was salty, and the rest of the dishes didnt seemed very special to us. Liked the dessert, yes, but couldnt eat it all because we wanted to go see the fireworks. About the fireworks, we requested specifically when we reserved that we wanted to see them. The hotel told us, when we checked in, we could do that at the terrace, that it was included in our expensive 5 course meal. Well, we left for the terrace and a very crancky lady told us we needed another bracelet to get in (another one on top of the hotel bracelet). We went back inside and they gave us another one but the lady didnt want that either to let us in, Had to come a young and decent manager to fix our entrance BUT IT WAS TOO LATE: The 12 O clock of the new year happened in the middle of the situation. WE ended up unhappy, disgusted, frustrated. We checked out the next morning feeling that this expensive dinner and expensive night werent woth it. Even the table they put us in had a limp!!! And we thought it was going to be a memorable dinner... Sorry if this review hurt somebodys feeling, but is OUR truth for our New Years Eve dinner at Toro Toro."

"Hello, I ate the other day at Lake Tahoe HK. So here is some constructive criticism coming from a newly retired teacher who is barely making a decent monthly pension , so I have to watch my pennies for sure now : 1. The waiters need to take off those suspenders and get a different tailored shirt to fit. I felt I was eating at a “Lumberjacks restaurant .” 2. The appetizer wagyu meatballs and sauce were amazing . However, I wish that it was on the menu as an actual “meal” and Spaghetti noodles served with it for just a few more dollars which would be an affordable meal for those on a limited income . 3. On your menu, the fish dishes were the cheapest for the most part . Well, I am allergic to all fish dishes . Therefore , I had to go with a $20 more dollar meal . I feel that I am being penalized financially for having to choose a beef dish over fish dish. Hence , the spaghetti and meatballs would have been an amazing choice. 4. Since I had to choose a beef dish ,I chose the New York steak which was amazing for $65. However, I got no sides on this plate . This steak should have for price a little scoop of potatoes , small carrots, small potatoes included like the Beef Wellington comes with it . 5. As a result of not getting sides with my New York , I had to order sides . Each side was $14.95 and I had two …so almost $30 dollars more added to my Steak of $65. So now I was up to almost $100 for only my one meal !!! Again, not good for those that want to experience HK ,but are on a fixed monthly income just trying to see if you can afford what you are buying ! 6. So, the steak should have come as I said above with a small scoop of potatoes and small carrot which would have saved me $30 dollars. 7. As for the sides , we had Mac n cheese which was not that moist and noodles are too big in size . So more of a creamier sauce and smaller noodles are needed ….just felt like I could choke at any time . 8. We also had the other side the purée cream"

"Thursday, 10/26/2023 Went to The Sheldon Inn with some beautiful friends for dinner. Address is 9000 Grant Line Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. My first time here. It wasn't hard to find with my navigation. Lol. It's located in a quiet area. Upon arrival... Pros 1) they have a little parking in the front and plenty of parking on the side of the building. 2) there is a ramp to walk up to the front door. There's a front desk you check in at. Hostess was very nice. As soon as I told her the reservation name, she smiled and took me over to the back, outside tables. 3) they have heaters for people who sit outside. It's beautiful in the back. There's lights hanging around so you can see. There's a water fountain going. 4) there is a wooden gate that was open and there was this large green grass area with beautiful landscape. It looks like it can host parties or weddings there. 5) our waitress was so nice. She was very attentive. She even offered to take our picture. So sweet! 6) Food presentation was beautiful. The salmon plates and the filet mignon plate looked beautiful. Buuuut....... 7) they provided hot water and tea bags. It's $4.00 per person it looks like. I didn't drink any tea. Still got charged for it. Water tasted good here. No funky or metal taste to it. 8) bread and butter was good. Butternut Squash soup was good, albeit on the thick side. 9) restaurant clean, table clean, plates, cups, bowls, utensils all clean. 10) bathroom clean. 11) they provided to go boxes for our left over foods. Cons 1) all of our food plates were on the little toooo salty side. I felt it was over salted. I heard my friend said theirs were too. But, we ate it anyways. Because it was still good. Just salty. 2) Conclusion We liked this restaurant. It was very pretty, staffs were professional and attentive, hostess was very nice, restaurant clean, food presentation was great. I would like for them not to over salt their food. If we can salt our own food if it's too less, that would have been better. But... in the end, we had a great time there catching up. I recommend this restaurant!"
