"Despite the humdrum name that touches on every Indian restaurant cliche Clay Oven Tandoor Indian Grill serves exquisite food of great complexity that compares favorably with the creations I've enjoyed at some of India's finest restaurants! Do yourself a favor: set aside an evening with friends (or simply with a loved one) to experience culinary greatness, preferably on a less crowded weeknight. Former long time Chicago Magazine restaurant reviewer."

"this place is clean and the staff are kind! there were no issues bringing my service dog here unannounced, and there were no fake service dogs in here. in the middle of the dining area, the space between the tables is small, but outside that area, there's more room. the vibe in here is calm and the music isn't loud at all."

"Just WOW! Where to switch from DC to MD, I didn't think we'll find another great Indian restaurant. Boyyy was wrong. My man I've eaten here three times, but we've taken out what was still amazing. Since the kids were at school, we decided to make a quick lunch this time. Okay. The drinks were good, I had a strawberry Margarita my husband had the Moscow Mule both delicious. Appetizers we share with the chickens. Main course we both shared goats and lamb (so much taste) my taste buds were dancing. We cannot forget the naan bread the garlic butter taste. My goodness our stomachs were so full we took a midday sleep."

"The food is good (not great), however they are severely understaffed. We have seen this time after time here. Some staff with tell you certain things not available due to staff, then owner will make it for you if you ask them. They can’t clean up table to flow customers through. They can use three or so extra set of hands that can be customer friendly. Hope to return some day with better service!"

"Still one of my favorites. Years ago I found out about this place from a chef friend who described the food as "a grandmother must be in the kitchen cooking. "I 've been coming here for years it 's always great! Casual service and easy for takeout. You can easily order online. For dining in they have the full menu and a buffet that is popular especially at lunch time.Dinner buffet is $17.99. They rotate the items and include a dessert. Always served with fresh naan bread. Great value for a tasty meal. I recommend ordering takeout online rather than calling it is much easier."

"I recently visited Royal Delhi Palace for their lunch buffet and was quite disappointed with the experience. For $16, I expected a lot more in terms of food quality and taste. The tandoori chicken, in particular, was lacking in flavor and was practically tasteless. The other dishes on the buffet were also quite bland and unappealing.Additionally, the service was relatively slow. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it took a long time for our server to bring us our naan bread. This made for a frustrating and unsatisfying dining experience overall.Overall, I would not recommend Royal Delhi Palace for their lunch buffet. The food is poor in quality and taste, and the service is slow. There are likely better Indian restaurants in the area that offer a better value for your money."

"I have eaten at this restaurant a few times and the foods is great, but it really is best as takeout. Everything is served in disposable containers even if you eat in. I am not big on eating food on paper plates and out of disposable containers for many reasons. They recently expanded the restaurant so they have some additional booths and tables in another room away of the counter. I had some food delivered by Uber eats last night and I would do I again. Everything was hot when it arrived and it actual arrived 7 minutes before the original estimated time. Their menu is very well marked with vegan and diary items. Most diary items have a vegan free option. They have a lot of gluten free options and their Gluten free Roti is to awesome especially when it is hot. I love it with their Tofu Bhurji and I roll it up in the Gluten free Roti and it is like a tofu scramble wrap. Some of my favorite dishes are the vegan spinach Malai kofta, Bindi Masala, and Dal Makhani. For appetizers I am not big on the Aloo Tikki I find it a little dry, but I do like them in the Chana Chaat. I have not tried the lunch buffet it is on my list."

"Great people, amazing food. This is my go to restaurant because it’s close to where I live and they make the best Indian food for a decent price. I can talk with the people and treat them as friends, have a good laugh and just overall make great conversation. The food and the hot sauce, truly tastes amazing since they make from scratch. They will always have my business."

"So this is a tough one, but I think the main issues of this place can be fixed. First off, the good is pretty amazing. Service is pretty awful. This can be fixed with a little training and kindness. The woman who was our server, barely said a few words to us, never checked on us and acted like she could care less if we were there or not. This is a very big place, and we came in a Friday night at 7pm and it was pretty empty. I think it would have been worse if they were busy (which they should be busy on a Friday night).A man came by a few times after we got the food and he was friendlier, but this was a little late in the game. It would also to be helpful to explain what comes with certain dishes. I ordered a lamb kabob and all I got was the lamb (was delicious) and some iceberg lettuce and slices of red onions. Nothing else. No sauce, no bread, no other veggies, just the lamb. That is kind of a fail, because nobody orders a dinner and just eats the meat by itself on purpose. I'll probably come back to try other dishes, but they really seriously need to consider hiring servers and training the ones they have."

"This place is probably one of the best Indian places in the area. Portions were SO GOOD compared to other Indian restaurants we definitely tried the money! We have the butter chicken, chicken vendaloo, chicken curry, simosas, garlic nan. The flavors of each plate were simply amazing. I tried many Indian places before, but this is definitely one of the best!"

"I regret to say that I was disappointed with the quality of some of the dishes at the restaurant for the price tag . Instead of the richer, more flavorful preparation that was anticipated, the kadai paneer lacked the dish's typical qualities and appeared to be paneer in a simple gravy with raw tomatoes and onions. In the same way, the dal Makhani was flavorless and lacked the typical intensity of spice. It was more akin to cream added to cooked lentils. The lacha paratha was also undercooked. I contacted the restaurant regarding these concerns, and I felt like I was getting a cold shoulder. I wanted to give my honest opinion in the hopes that it might be useful, even though I am aware that taste can vary widely."
