"This place was just ok. The food was average. I prefer the burgers at Red Robin. There is no ambiance at this location. The maple bacon old fashioned tasted strange. There was a bug crawling across our table that I was trying to get rid of while the waitress was standing there. She didn’t seem to notice or mind. My wife and I tried it because of a Travelzoo deal. I have no need to go back."

"Our food never arrived! After about 45 minutes we were informed that the chef quit and the manager was no where to be found. I felt so bad for the wait staff and bartender, they basically told customers that their food would never arrive so all of the customers in the packed restaurant left. My husband and I were grabbing a bite before a show across the street, needless to say we went to the show hungry. Get your act together and have a plan B for situations like this! I’ll never dine at any Umami again."

"this place can easily accommodate large group meetings in a pinch in the last minute. the place was not so full the whole time we were there. the sweet potato fries, cauliflower bites and cheesy notes were really good. their burgers and vanes were not. I will probably not go back for eating unless I get pommes or need to make another large group reservation in a prise."

"Much improved from when they first opened. The options have expanded and the burgers are varied and with interesting combinations. The maple covered bacon sweet potato fries as rich and delicious but very rich and filling so it is best as a side order for two. Lots of bacon bits and great flavor. The sliders are more than ample unless you're a big eater. Though three different ones are listed, you can combine them in any order and just have 3 of one or mix them as you please. The wine list is very limited and the corkage fee is way too high at $15 for this type of restaurant and one with such a weak wine list offering. A corkage fee of $5 or $10 would be more reasonable and I feel encourage people to return. The service was very good, the waitress was attentive and checked to make sure all was good without being over bearing."

"what is the point of making a reservation if there is no host/hostess to welcome them, check them in and sit them? at the arrival in umami there was a line at the bar 17 people deep. there was an overblown, handwritten sign that read "Bar food I asked the woman who commanded how reservations were treated, I didn't get any clean answer. I ordered two of the exact same burger, pommes and tried 2 glass wein. they were from weeping. only bier is what I was told. I asked for two waters. $47 was my total. I joined my concert friend at the table where we wait another 20 minutes until we get our food. during this time many people asked about their order. our food is there, the waters are not. I asked about the bar. the burgers were best moderate and the pommes eis cold. grateful of the concert hall sold food and wine as we had a 2nd evening dinner. I am aware of the mängel and employment issues facing restaurants. the solution would not in this case be to accept reservations at this time. turn off the service. so people don't hang."

"I recently visited this restaurant and found it to be extremely underrated. The old school burger joint vibe was executed perfectly during my visit. I ordered a BBQ burger, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and a beer (pitchers were available). The burger was cooked perfectly and served on a delicious bun, while the onion rings and fries were hot and crispy. I deducted half a star for the limited beer selection and slightly flat beer, but it wasn't enough to significantly detract from my overall experience. This place is definitely underrated!"

"Ordered an appetizer to be served before entre and we never received it. Had to ask again. We ordered the shishito peppers and I think they were in a hurry to get them out because they were barely charred. I’ve had that dish before and it was really upsetting how undercooked and flavorless it was. I didnt expect a discount but for the mistake and low quality I really regretted getting them to begin even if they’d if take it off the bill, which they didn’t."

"I went to the restaurant for an early dinner with my children on Saturday evening. The staff at the front desk had attitude and where very unfriendly. No smile, no welcome, just a surly glare and we were told to sit wait whilst they prepared a table. Note, the restaurant was almost empty.We sat for nearly minutes and no one came over. I counted staff chatting and having a laugh near the kitchen and watched and waited but no one came over. Finally the water person came over to give us water and I asked to make our order.He sent a server over who informed me “I’m not your server but I’ll take your order.” Well thank you for doing your JOB. Very poor service, food was just ok, atmosphere was dull, the restaurant wasn’t clean tables smeared with grease fries squashed into the floor.Will not go again and would never recommend to a friend"

"Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and pleasant. They don 't make it clear that every item on the menu is separate so when you order a sandwich and a side those are all charged for. Kind of a surprise when the check came. VERY LOUD MUSIC, made it tough to hold a conversation so maybe not a great date place. Communal seating so you may be at a picnic table with bench seating (with no backs to the chairs), so not very comfortable. Meal was amazing though, the veggie burgers are incredible and the tots were to die for."

"kylie the manager told us that she helped the 6th Ave-Spot to open; had fun stories about experiences with customers who travel from japan to get this burger! devin was our most gracious host, e was our server and was great, there was nothing else we needed. got the chicken wings at the start, and truffled fries. we were 5 in your party, so got 2 commands from everyone! I got the sunny sinceenburger, as I wanted a roasted egg and added only mushrooms, because everything was delicious. we have 4 duvel beer to start and go a hard root beer with starters, mmmm yummy. then we have 2 allagash tripel ales to help finish our burgers, and had all 3 of the ice cream sandwich desserts. I just wish they offered cake, but it was good. this is a place to go back and often! their service, eating and drinks were all abhorrent from a 5-star rating. many thanks for a great evening!"

The decor is simple and can get noisy when busy, especially if sitting inside. On a particular night, there were families with noisy children, but the corkage fee of $10 is reasonable. Making a reservation through Open Table was convenient, as this restaurant may not be a top choice for future visits. The waitress provided good service, ensuring orders were taken and checking in to ensure satisfaction."

"My daughter and I, both 21 years old, were at the Union Street festival searching for a lunch spot. We typically prefer more traditional restaurants, so we were hesitant about trying something more eclectic.
