"Located in the Mission District where Last Supper Club used to be, this hip Italian restaurant draws big crowds on weekends. My friends and I reserved a six-top and were seated in their dark, dungeon-like room downstairs. It took several minutes for our eyes to become accustomed to the dim lighting and actually see our menus. Seating was interesting, half of us sat in regular chairs and the other half sat in an old church pew. When I’m in the mood, I enjoy cocktails with either Grey Goose or Belvedere vodka. But our two servers made it abundantly clear that the bartenders turn up their noses at vodka which is apparently inferior to rums, gins and the like for mixed drinks. They said vodka doesn’t do anything to enhance those kinds of drinks. That explains why they only had several vodkas and each were infused with weird flavors like basil. I tried a highly recommended gin drink, (I hate gin but one of our servers insisted that it was worth a try), and traded it in for a glass of red wine. Then I tried to focus on the food. Our group shared a bunch of dishes, including roasted beets with ricotta salata which was my girlfriend’s favorite, and meatballs in tomato sauce which were a little too soft but had good flavor. It came with a couple slices of grilled bread to sop up the sauce. We also had a proscuitto pizza with tomato, arugula, and mozzarela which had a thin, crispy crust but was just okay. The marinated sardines were very tart which is the way they are supposed to be, but my mouth got really puckery. The salumi platter was nice, as was the saffron risotto with osso bucco which was comforting and rich. We had a couple of espresso-laden desserts to finish the night. Honestly, there are so many other restaurants where I can get a great Italian meal with a nice vodka cocktail and good lighting beyond the bowels of a restaurant. I’ll be back in the Mission soon since I love the overall vibe of that neighborhood, but I don’t think Beretta will be among my stops."

"for the caliber of this restaurant the expectation fell to the quality of their kitchen. the supper removal, although interesting, really didn't dare me. there is probably a reason why for hundreds of years no other Chinese restaurants want to hot and acidic suppe in. add their suppenknödel. the dizzy skin was a bit on the soggy side and could use more broth flour and warm water ratio. the highlight of the evening, peking ente, was good, but not great. Although it had a hauch of Smokey aroma, it was in the regular relatiw bland that rely too much on the sose to offer the aroma, so it a bit more on the sweeter palette. this duck in my preference, is much better than the quan ju de in vancouver ente, but it is not too nycs peking duck house or orlandos morimoto asia fit. as you can see on the photos, the presentation could really use some improvements especially on the siu mai. all stitched together on a side of the steamer do not come over $8 per piece. what I didn't bother to make the photo is the unpacks that are all wrapped with rice paper in between, compared to other peking ducks that fold them in a spiral that is easy to separate but also elegantly presented. the service is acceptable for a fine essstätte, but again nothing to write home. it is disappointing that the fine restaurants in vancouver only match other facilities in the price."

"felicità. eleganza. apprezzamento. happy, elegance and appreciation are the three words I would use sparingly to describe the experience I had last night with my best friend in belotti ristorante e botegga. the nice host led my friend and I at our table where we met with our main host david. after the decision on what we wanted to order, we were presented with a phenomenal splash veneziano, generally known as aperol splash (10/10,) I highly recommend. my best friend (the birthday was it) and I ordered battuta, gnocci alla bolognese, anatra and panna cotta. starting with the battuta, they feel like they were taken on a delicate journey through a layer of subtle but distinct cohesive textures and aromen. the truffle kaviar, in tandem with the juniper and carasau made the aromes of the bark tars more pronounced and tasteful. these ingredients were married on the plate and they felt a fresh one from each element with each bite. Go to the gnocci alla bolognese. my goodness. this court literally let us melt absolutely - just like every kiss bundle of gnocci that we are stuck in our mouth. we were transported to the purest and most peaceful ends of our souls. with each bite we closed our eyes and experienced the defined taste depth. the warm purity of the bolognesian meat sauce, the softness of the gnocci (which literally melts in the mouth), and the sharpness of the grada padano. I could say that there was so much thought and love that came with this court. we were sad with every bite, because we didn't want this experience to end. next we have another main course. the anatra. the meerrote entenbrust sat nicely over the plate with little caramelized and intact zipolline dancing along the tip. with every bite they can fully experience the tenderness of the duck breast, with an element of subtle crunch due to the perfect soul. the caramelized zipolline complicated the escape extremely well and was also a main character in this plate. the purple treviso contrasted the sweet of the honey in the dish and delivered a bitter element overall. it was not our favorite part of the plate, but it served an purpose. overall we enjoyed the cleanliness and elegance in each element of the plate. Finally, our experience ended with the most intense and creamy Panna-Catta, which is the sheer epitome of everything that is pure and good on this earth. with each spoon they felt the aromas of vanilla and the celestial dance on their back. Between sharp but subtle, tartness from the red celestial and creamy, rich, silky and smooth white vanilla cream. this gloomy didn't overwhelm you or makes you bad because you eat them. it was the season final of this experience and it reminded them to stay present to enjoy every bite. a refreshingly perfect way to finish a wonderful culinary experience. total surpassed belotti ristorante e botegga all expectations I had. my best friend loved every moment and I am so glad that we had such a phenomenal culinary experience. each court played its own role and added a new defining level to gastronomic. this is indefinitely our favorite place in bay area, and we will be back (hopefully they are ready for us aswell)."
