"BEST BURGER I’ve ever had! I came in for pasta, but the server said that her favorite menu item was the burger. So glad I asked! It was AMAZING. And the house red wine beats anyone’s in the city…dry, complex and scrumptious. Staff is friendly and welcoming yet professional industrious. It’s no wonder that it’s so difficult to get a table during peak hours. Can’t wait to come back!"

"This is the only place that I know that nickel and dimes the customers by charging for bags (a small sandwich-sized brown paper bag). I understand grocery stores, etc. charging for bags because you didn't bring a reusable bag to shop, but I've never seen a restaurant or deli do this. Extremely off-putting. This is another reason why Delmonico's is much better."

"A steak ordered “medium” came out completely rare. We sent it back. The cooks simply threw the pre-cut steak slices back on the grill and returned a disheveled looking plate with tough more than well done slices. No one returned to see if things were okay until it was check time. They seemed surprised we’d sat there 20 minutes not eating a thing. The meal was ultimately removed from our tab. The other entree had hair in the sauce but we did not complain. Just left it. We left the restaurant hungry and headed down the street for a carry out pizza. Very disappointed. We’d been looking forward to a special date night. I had fined here once before and had a nice experience. But I won’t return again. Too many other great choices to explore in Little Italy."

"The service and the food was poor at best. My son received his dinner about 20 minutes after the rest of the table. The salmon was raw in the middle. The air conditioning was non-existent and their were flies circling the table. My wife noted the deplorable bathroom condition, so we got the high-priced check and got out of there. From a person who has lived in Newport for over 20 years, go to the Mooring, 22 Bowen, Smokehouse or any other place as this is not the place to have dinner. You may spend a little more, but it will be worth it. I would hope there would be a call back from management on this but Iâm not holding my breath. Worst dining experience of the year."

"We had a wonderful dinner in Gemma. The highlight was the atmosphere. We spent a relaxed two and a half hours and we could totally relax. Beautiful decor feels like you're going back in a classic NY Italian restaurant. The service was excellent, the sommelier very charming. Very recommend to get its entrance when you order wine. He came with a delicious selection for us, the Canapone Santa Vittoria. Order the Risotto (scrumptious) and the truffles Gnocchi (daily special... also scrumptious). I got sticker shock on the bill, but this is NY..."

"They couldn't get away with it if it wasn't so good. the service is absolutely regrettable. there is no system and not enough people working, and the fact that we are asked to pay 20% for compulsory satisfaction is so insulting. please gjelina group you can better."

"I have been coming here for yearssss when working in the area. They have so many amazing dishes and specialty sandwiches all made to order. I have tried a few and it 's always hard to choose which to order! Super fresh ingredients and solid portion sizes here. Depending on time of day it does gets pretty busy and crowded here between new in store orders, people picking up...including deliveries and folks dining in also. I would recommend calling in your order! The menu is full of variety and great choices. 5/5 'sParking: Parking at the shared Petco lot, street park in metered areas or risk double parking."

"we had some friends visiting from the state, and out go-to Italian place is closed for the slurry season, so we decided to try giampietro based on the same level as our favorite stretch italian restaurant. unfortunately, eating did not live until the evaluation. a lot of people had pizza, so maybe that's good, but the pasta dishes we had were a big disappointment. it began with the filled bowls my wife ordered. they were not the huge filled dishes they would expect. they were tiny. not velveeta shells n cheese tiny, but close. the filling and the sauce were uninspiring, and it lacked taste. I had cheese manicotti, but with alfredo instead of tomato sauce, and added meatballs. the Alfredo sauce also lacked taste, and the manicotti noodles felt as if they had been made a long time ago. the meatballs were simply eggs of ground beef. no real spice or taste. our guests had the baked ziti with meatballs (same problems) and the chicken marsala. the marsala tasted more like a sweet water than a marsala wine sauce, and the whole plate, like everything else, was very difficult in taste. Moreover, the staff seemed more interested in the NBA game on television than on the work in the restaurant, but I think that is the norm owner expecting us to accept these days. all in all, giampietro was an extremely disappointing experience. I hope the pizza is good, but we will never be there again. if michaels (our favourite place) is not open, we will get for another type of food. giampietro is not worth taking the chance on itself. for a meal that ordered at almost $150 without alcohol, I have now buyer remorse."

"My hubby and I ate here today for breakfast. Overall the food was decent and came out hot. We were a little taken back when asking for a smaller portion of French toast to order and there wasnât anything. There was a Childrens French toast order, but we were told we couldnât order that. We either had to order the full size French toast breakfast in addition to the breakfast we already ordered or no French toast at all. Very disappointing. The water came out to our table in a bottle that was just sitting on a shelf; very odd for the way restaurants normally bring water to your table. I think the most disturbing part was watching our waiter walk around and touch everything and then go make an alcoholic drink that had items inside of it. The pork rinds were just sitting in an open bowl on the counter, the same with the pickled items that went on a skewer. He touched all of that with his hands and made her drink. It was really gross."

"Links some personal stuff at the table after dinner. Return to the restaurant within 5 minutes. All employees confirmed they found my stuff. After all, they told me they threw my stuff in the garbage. Why would a restaurant throw someone away? Terrible shame. But the food was good. Shame?"

"Local favorite: fantastic home made pasta, and a tiramisu to die for (if you have a huge appetite). Portions are un-even but generally generous. Service is helpful and attentive but can be a little slow at peak-hour. Loud in the evening"
