"Our server was rude throughout the evening. At first, we thought he was just being humorous and laughed along, but as the night progressed, we found ourselves feeling increasingly upset. He carelessly cleared away our champagne and tea, insisting that we move our champagne to the center of the table because he was uncomfortable with us having it there. When my friend requested a tea refill, he remarked something to the effect of, “Wow, they really despise this alcohol.” This made my friend anxious, and when she inquired if there was any alcohol in the tea, his response was, “That was sweet, and it clearly fell through.” When he returned to replace the tea, he stared at my friend until she finally said, “I’m waiting for you to take that stray and pour it into the new glass.” This behavior made us quite uncomfortable until we asked for boxes for our leftover food. He seemed offended and said, “You’re suddenly full?” I genuinely hope his behavior was meant as playful humor that we simply didn’t understand, but his professionalism with other tables contrasted sharply with his attitude toward us, making it feel personal. As we were likely the youngest couple in the restaurant, we wondered if he noticed this and tried to highlight the age difference. In the end, our bill came to $250, including the 20% tip that was automatically added. We didn’t feel that our experience was worth this amount, and given how we were treated, we would not have tipped the full 20%. We are disappointed that the glowing reviews we had heard were not reflected in our experience."

"First off, if you are looking for a quiet, intimate place to have dinner, keep looking. This is NOT the place to go. People were practically yelling because it was so loud, especially in the front of the restaurant. We were seated in the back, so it was a bit better, but still VERY loud inside. We started with the toasted ravioli. They were very good. Not worth $14, but were very good. They were not uniform in size or shape at all, which was really odd to me.My husband had the lobster risotto and I had the chicken and spinach cannelloni. He definitely chose better than me. The risotto was very good, but mine was incredibly dry and the chicken tasted like it was prepared days ago. It definitely didn't taste like it was freshly prepared. Portions of the pasta were rubbery as if it was reheated in a microwave. The portion size for the cannelloni was small for it being $21 and it didn't come with anything else. Just the 3 cannelloni and that's it.We ended with the tiramisu. It was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but I've definitely had better. It also wasn't plated very well either. For this being a fine dining restaurant, I expected more. The service was very fast (which is good and bad... Bad because it really makes me doubt that things are freshly prepared as the menu and website make you think it will be). We had a 7pm reservation and we were done with our meal by 8pm.One final thing that I didn't like is that when you ask for your meal to be boxed, they take it away and box it in the back. I am not a fan of restaurants that do that as I don't trust when my plate leaves my sight. Also, with the way the world is, I'd like the least amount of people coming into contact with my food. Also, once I got home, I discovered that my cannelloni were carelessly put into the box and practically none of the sauce from the plate was put in the box. That will make reheating these pointless as the sauce was the saving grace of the dish to help the dry chicken.Overall, this restaurant is VERY overrated and very expensive for just an OK experience. If I'm going to spend that amount of money, there are far more places I could go and have a much better experience."

"This our first time at Grey’s so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt this time. First, let me say it is in a great location in the heart of downtown Franklin. The building is beautiful with so much history. The ambiance was perfect. We made reservations for Sunday brunch and sat upstairs. There were 2 musicians playing and it started as a good experience. Perfect setting! However, this is also where is began to go down hill. We sat down ordered an appetizer. We had been looking forward to trying the pimento cheese balls. They came highly recommended by a friend. About 10 minutes later our waiter came back with our drinks (2 sweet teas) and took our order. Many people came in and out receiving their food and finishing up their brunch while we waited for our appetizer. After 30 minutes I asked the waiter if the appetizer would be coming soon. He said he was going to check on it it should be up. After 7-8 minutes more he came back to say he forgot to put in the appetizer order but our food was almost up. Much to our disappointment we cancelled the appetizer since he said our food was almost ready. We have now been seated for 40 minutes with only drinks. 15 more minutes pass and still no food! Our waiter then comes to our table tells us the kitchen lost our ticket but he had them make it while he watched. He places our food down it was COLD! This lets me know it had been sitting there and this wasn’t a kitchen problem but a waiter problem. When he came over we let him know it was cold but a this point we were over Grey’s. He did comp us a banana pudding for the table and gave us the “family discount” which was 50% off the check. I won’t say we will never go back but I will say I would not want the same waiter again. There was a blonde girl upstairs who seemed to be on top of it. Everyone around us seemed to get their food quickly and I do appreciate the dessert and discount. It was just disappointing to leave with such a poor experience."
