"Pleasant Surprise Great Food and Service. Was in Statesville Saturday night and decided to give King of The Sea a try. Will admit I had reservations since it had a low approval rating but at the same time, no reviews. Normally not a good sign but I would guess a competitor is behind this.<br/ <br/ I was very surprised and in a very pleasant way. The service from the time you walk in the door was outstanding. The foods is great and outside the decor being a little dated, a very good experience and a great value.<br/ <br/ I had one of their platters. It had a great fillet of fish, stuffed crab, fried oysters, stuffed minced clams and loads of popcorn shrimp along with fries, husp puppies and slaw all for only $12.50 and it was piled high. For an additional $2.00, I added a generous portion of scallops. Everything was great except for the slaw but then again I am not a fan of slaw in the first place. I ate more than I should have and still ended up taking a generous portion home.<br/ <br/ Again service was outstanding from the hostess who greated me to the wait staff who served me. Could not have been better.<br/ <br/ This place is definately a keeper and I would recommend it to anyone who likes seafood. The location is a not readily apperant and if you're coming in off of I 40, you end us back tracking a bit on US 64 but it's worth the time to find it."
