Gasthof Goldener Greifen

This hotel was the perfect place to stay in Rothenburg! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and our room was very clean. You are steps away from the center of town. The continental breakfast was very nice and included cooked to order eggs. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was also very good. Thank you for a great stay.

(This is a review for the restaurant only. I didn’t stay at the hotel. I really liked the feel of this restaurant. The dark interior reminded me of a neighbourhood pub while the patio out back was secluded and peaceful. Welcoming and attentive staff. The menu is standard biergarten food and drink. They had two alcohol free beers by the bottle in addition to regular. I got a Tucher Reifbräu alcohol free. It was okay easy to drink but too light for my taste (I’ve had richer alcohol free beers so I know that’s not it . Fun to try though. The dish I got was “Fried camembert with salads, cranberry, and bread”. I think this would have been appropriate to share between two people if it were paired...

The owners of the hotel were so lovely and friendly. We stayed for one night including breakfast. The room was clean and warm as we went during heavy snow, shame there was no tea making facilities as it would have been nice being in the freezing cold. Beds were comfy enough and the room we had also had a bathtub. No TV in ours, although some rooms have depending which you get assigned. Great location. The bad part of our stay was unfortunately this unpleasant woman working during the breakfast who proceeded to shout at us.
