the meal am anker was the best trip! there was an amazing Avacado mouse, cappuccino soup and the best salmon I had in a long time! it is a must in this cozy village! the hotel is recently renovated and an amazing boutique hotel!

The Anker underwent a renovation a while ago but we hadn’t eaten there since. Thus it was a very pleasant surprise to sit in the clean, bright room and be tempted by so many local specialties that we didn’t know where to start. Ultimately we...all decided on the fried liver pieces with hash browns, starting off with composed salads. Everything was very tasty. The restaurant has a clever dessert menu; in addition to the normal-sized portions, you can order mini-versions of different kinds of mousses, and individual pieces of chocolate. Teufen is ideally located for relaxing walks in the unspoiled landscape of Appenzell. And Anker makes a perfect stop to enjoy a wonderful lunch. Thumbs-up for the excellent service: charming, efficient yet unobstrusive. It truly was Swiss hospitality at its best.
