"We went to this restaurant because it is located in the former home of writer George S. Kaufman. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. Unfortunately, the food was only so-so. It is quite expensive, which is understandable given the location. However, for a fancy restaurant, it was a mess! Literally, the servers prep area was next to our table and littered with old coffee cups, papers, and all manner of junk. All the cabinets were open and the general feel was like I was in a messy person’s kitchen. We won’t go back, but I appreciate that the owners have saved this piece of history."

As always, our meal was excellent in every way! The food was delicious, the service excellent, and the pace of the meal was spot on!

I had always heard glowing reviews of Barley Sheaf Farm and our first visit did not disappoint! We had a wonderful brunch. The food was delicious and well proportioned, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was charming (even though it was a rainy day). I would highly recommend this special place.
