"I have been a customer at Brent's for almost my entire life. I first discovered them when I lived in the valley near Northridge. I have dined at Brent's Westlake a few times, and it has always been decent, but not outstanding. The black pastrami Reuben sandwich is usually good, but today it was mostly fat with very little meat. It was nothing like what is shown in their pictures. There was an excessive amount of sauerkraut, which I like, but it was overshadowed by the fat. The sandwich costs almost $30, so paying an extra $5 for lean meat seemed unreasonable. We decided to split the sandwich since Reubens are typically large, but this one was quite small, possibly due to being at the end of the loaf of bread. The only good value was the onion rings for an additional dollar, as there were plenty of them. However, we also ordered a side of Thousand Island dressing, which other restaurants provide for free with your order. The dressing we received did not resemble Thousand Island at all. If it was complimentary, I wouldn't mind, but they charged extra for it. I will not be ordering from this place again."
