We keep a very short list of “must eats”, for our 2 weeks in DC every year (so we can visit new places, of course), but this place easily became a “must”. AMAZING!!! Excellent food. Major flavor. Owners are awesome combination of Midwest and New Orleans. Wish I knew about it years ago. Everything was excellent and great flavor and spice. My only request would be get some big oaky chardonnays in! Love it. Will be back.

I live in Door County year-round. I have eaten in just about every restaurant north of Sturgeon Bay. And I have lived for years in big cities, too, and eaten in the finest restaurants there. So please believe me when I say the food at the Fireside compares to that at the finest restaurants anywhere. Blake Schar is a skilled and creative chef. The restaurant's service is friendly and welcoming. In my opinion, day in and day out, this is the best place for dinner in all of northern Door County.
