"Abe was the most kind and accommodating host! We arrived very hungry just 5 minutes before closing time. Abe greeted us with a warm smile and his loving and wonderful spirit. I was visiting from out of state and needed to buy fine bulgur to make Tabbouleh for a potluck. Aci Halal was one of the only Mediterranean markets still open. The cozy restaurant was full of happy customers. Abe cleared a table for us and treated us like family. The Mediterranean food was the best I've ever had! I am from SLC and have been to many Mediterranean restaurants. The lentil soup was light and flavorful with hints of lemon. The shepherd's salad with feta was amazing. The baba ghanoush was creamy. The eggplan...

The prices on meals are average but if you catch them for the lunch specials it's a great deal. The rice sucks but everything else is good. Their shop is kinda small but they have quality items for sale at usual import prices. Staff is very friendly.

"Let me start by saying the only reason this place doesn't get a five star is because of the wait. In fairness my friend and I were there on valentines day so we had extreme patience with the servers. I had a reservation for 2 and when we arrived they tried to seat us at the bar (on Valentine's Day! . No bueno. We said we would wait for a table, that took about 15 minutes but it was well worth the wait. Once we were seated it took about 25 minutes or so for the waitress to come get our orders. We had prepared in advance and ordered all courses in that first round so that the food could just steadily come out. We had the ginger salad, the dressing was one of the best I have ever had. Next we shared the Sweet and Sour Soup, it was absolutely delicious, lots of flavors and textures and had a bite! Our appetizers were both sushi and we found them to be excellent and fresh. For Entree's I had the filet which I found to be one of the BEST I have ever had in my life. I brought some home and I was able to cut it with a plastic knife the next day after warming it up! My friend got the Tempura which was also delicious. The sauces were all spectacular as were the roasted vegetables. My only complaint was A. our reserved table wasn't ready and B. The time it took to get through the meal. While we enjoyed our evening it was a 2 hour and 15 minute meal. I feel like 1 hour and 45 minutes MAXIMUM for our courses would have felt more comfortable. Generally speaking we loved it and we will be going back again!"
