"Every visit to Kansas City, MO, I find myself drawn to Beignet. Located in the historic City Market, Beignet is a popular destination for those checking out the farmers market. On nicer days, especially on the weekend, you can expect a line out the door. The menu is filled with Louisiana classics. You can get a savory or sweet Beignet or go with the traditional Beignet coated in powdered sugar. They also offer some heartier meals, my personal favorite being shrimp and cheese grits. In all honesty it’s the grits that draw me back. The food is made fresh and you can tell simply from the taste. They offer counter service and seating is pretty limited but don’t let that stop you. Pretty cool spot. The food is okay too. The decor really leans to a down home, Louisiana mom-and-pop diner. The food is good and it's a different vibe for the Kansas City area. I'd say try it out for yourself if you're exploring the Kansas City River Market area.

We LOVE beignet! This little spot in the city market makes delicious sweet and savory beignets as well as other delicious Cajun food. It’s a quick service spot with only a few tables and chairs but there are more tables around the city market if it happens to be very busy. Honestly the bread pudding- called pudding Juanita is our favorite dessert in all of Kansas City. It’s magic.

"We are in town for New Years and a Chiefs game. Bristol’s was recommended by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. We made reservations for 6 top and arrived 15 minutes early and we were seated promptly. Adam was our waiter and was amazing. He is the reason for a solid 5 stars. He made great recommendations for us, kept our drinks filled at all times and cleared our table quickly after we finished with a serving. We started with cauliflower, calamari and oysters for appetizers. All three were very good, but the cauliflower stole the show. It was so good. Secondly, 3 of us had Cesar salads and they were great. The dressing is made fresh daily and it makes all the difference. My husband ordered the bisque and he was nice enough to swap with me halfway through because I loved the bisque when I tried his. For entrees we had a variety of things off the menu. One member of our party had the Tuna and said it was exceptionally good. Another had the filet and crab cake and loved both. He commented on the crab cake being the best he has ever had. Another member had the KC strip and said the flavor was great, but the steak was on the tough side. Another member had the chicken, it was a large serving and was very flavorful and good. The potatoes were a standout on this dish. I had the sea bass and it was okay. I’ve had better, but it was still pretty good. I didn’t finish all of it. It was. Bite rubbery and I probably wouldn’t order it again if I went back. Our last member decided on the lobster Mac and cheese. It was good, but not a stand out. Lastly we had cream brûlée for dessert. We are a bit of hard judges when it comes to crème brûlée and we would give this a 7/10. It needed a bit more toasting on the top. Over all we had a great evening with great friends along with exceptional serves from Adam. We will definitely come back if ever in KC."
