"While on our way to the beach, we stopped at this restaurant and were sadly disappointed. The food took ages to come out and when it did, it was cold and the portions were small. The service was alright, but it felt like the locals were treated better than us outsiders. It appeared that the management couldn't handle the demand and it showed in the quality of our experience. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I recommend driving a few extra miles south to New Strawn and trying Robert Lee's Bar and Grill instead. The food is better, there's more of it, the service is great, and the prices are lower."

We drove to the Blue Canoe excitedly on Sunday, only to find it closed 4 hours earlier than usual. There was no announcement of the early closure. We were disappointed and wondered if the restaurant is still in operation. The weather was not a factor in our visit.

I have enjoyed the food at this restaurant before. I especially remember the salsa being unique and smoky. However, tonight the burger was small and unappetizing with cold toppings. The fries were hot but undercooked. My wife and daughter ordered the chicken fried steak. The steak was hot but mediocre, and the mashed potatoes were cold. I like to support small-town restaurants, but I won't be coming back with food quality like this. The service was average.
