"I absolutely loved this place!! The food was incredible and the inside was so beautiful. I was definitely bummed our service wasn’t as great as everything else. I thought our server was nice but as the night went on and we were the only couple in the restaurant I could tell she was ready for us to leave. She came and told us the kitchen closed and we were unable to order dessert which was disappointing considering we were celebrating our Valentine’s Day. I have no problem with wanting to go home but if she would have warned us before hand it would have looked better for her. As we walked out of the restaurant we noticed the kitchen was definitely not closed. I could be wrong but either way...

Lackluster service hostess, server, and manager. Cold wind blowing every time the door and we sat in the corner away from the door. I'm 130lbs, don't eat a ton, and still was hungry after dinner with a shared salad, appetizer, my own entree, and shared dessert with check total of $130.

Make sure you mean to get the sushi side and not the cooked side. We meant to get the steak and seafood side, accidently reserved BR Sushi instead. My wife was happy because she decided to get sushi, but I wanted hot food and so our food did not come out at the same time. This is not the fault of the restaurant, the two sides of the restaurant have separate kitchens. This was my fault for not paying attention when reserving. The food was good, just make sure you pay attention to which reservation you are getting.

"So delicious! We went for a walk downtown and decided to stop in because the door was open. Best choice we've made in a while. The gentleman behind the counter handed me some blonde chocolate. Never had it before, but I walked out with a bag! Made in store and totally worth the fat! I will be going back and trying something new next time."

"we were here earlier and had a great time with great food, about a year ago. there's something changed. the carpaccio was pasty, the wagyu flat iron steaks were hard and cold, and the framed spinat and mushrooms lacked salt / flavor. and the garnelen sampi steak that hit with the huge garnels was insensitive, the garnels were so overcooked that I literally had to bite as hard as I could get through the first one and I could not do the first. they were friendly enough to take the price of garnel from the bill. the ambiente was overwhelming, the piano player played so loud to override the gas house that everyone had to scream over him. it was as loud as a sporty one. my man, who is hard to hear, could not hear anything I said all the meal, and his service dog was also very concerned. overall, for a meal near $300 for 2 people with wein, appetizer, 2 main courses, 2 pages, and still a generous tipp for the waiter (that was not his fault, so why short him in a tipp,) we were incredibly disappointed and will not return."

"Oh, this is a great place for a leisurely family dinner. There is no loud music. You can talk to your family in peace. It's so unusual. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We arrived for dinner and found a place for us. I recommend taking snails according to the recipe from the chef. They are in an amazing creamy sauce with mushrooms. We were also surprised by the onion soup. It's easy to spoil it, but here it's gorgeous. We also liked the children's menu it is very homemade. The kangaroo meat was soft and delicious. I recommend to try it. The Sirloin steak was cooked superbly. The portions are human and that's great. We enjoyed the homemade salad. I liked the bar card. A large selection of drinks. It's a great place. Looks like we'll definitely be back."

"Jax has always been one of my favorite seafood places from back in the day in Denver before Rockies games. And while Jax is still a super solid albeit pricey call for food, their Happy Hour just isn 't the same as it once was. The amazing duck fried rice seems to be completely off the menu. The wedge salad, although still on the main menu, has been removed from HR. Replacing these (and other) classics seem to be riffs on gumbo that just isn 't that great. The always solid muscles have been reduced to only one preparation and the portion size is so dinky it bears no resemblance to what it used to be. It also comes with toast to soak up the delicious juice...one piece...my table of four had to fight over one dinky piece of toast. C 'mon Jax, stop cheaping out. As with so many things in the world, people seem to forget what got them to success and commit hari kari in the name of 'being new and fresh ', 'reinventing themselves ', or certainly apropos here, try to pinch a penny. You guys used to be so good..."
